Today my neighbor took me to meet a dog rescuer (Lynda Houck who runs Diamonds in the Ruff in Hampton Roads) so they could introduce me to a possible new family. I was very nervous because we took all my stuff from my old house, crate, bowls, itch spray and all and rode in a stranger's car... The family who I was supposed to meet is small like mine used to be, just one man and one woman. They wanted to have me stay with them temporarily on a foster basis to see how we would get along. When I got there I was VERY excited and I jumped on their leather couch. My friends and the dog rescuer were very worried and told me to get down but the family we went to meet didn't mind me on their couch at all and said they wanted me to be comfortable. I was happy to hear that! They took off my leash and I followed the man all around the big house. We got along great! He's so much fun and the lady is really nice! When it was time to go, I didn't get back in the car. In fact, the new family likes me so much they decided to skip the foster paperwork and adopt me all the way! I'm nervous about the new house but my friends seem really happy. They said my new people already picked a vet for me so my skin condition can be treated and they researched dog foods so they can feed me healthy food. They're financially able to help me live a better life and best of all, I don't have to share them with other dogs! It'll be just me and my people from now on! The nice rescuer lady is going to come back and visit and my new family signed papers saying the rescuer can come pick me up if she ever thinks I'm not happy here. What a wonderful, exciting day!!!
