Arrival Story:
We stopped at a breeder's home who had advertised Basset puppies for sale (yeah, we know now!). This little guy came right up to the fence and stuck his nose in my husband's hand. My husband picked him up, and the puppy went right up the front of his shirt into his neck, stuck his nose in my husband's beard and went to sleep. That pretty well sealed the deal!

Bio:
Lucky was nothing but a perfect gentleman his whole life - except when his sister, Lady, would try to pull an Alpha dog on him! Unfortunately, Lady usually came out on the winning side of any argument.

The Rules
(Hint: Copy and paste the rules so you don't have to type them again):

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

My Seven Random Facts:

1. I LOVE food (even here at the Bridge);

2. My Dad was my very, very, very best furend;

3. My sister, Lady, and I didn't get along very well on earth, but now we are
the best of furends;

4. I never cared about toys, and I still don't;

5. My Mom always said that I was a great big, smooshy lover boy;

6. I loved to ride in the car, especially when it was just Dad and me;

7. My full AKC name is "Lyons' Lucky in Love" - and that's a good thing
because my parents loved me and I sure loved them, too!

Let's see.... I think I will tag-
1. Chivas
2. Dollie
3. Goofy
4. Pete
5. Sylke
6. Ben
7. Quincey

The Snow is Gone

I know that Lady was watching our family today because she got very quiet and sad. I know that she misses them a lot, but I was afraid she would feel even worse if I told her that I did, too. So I kept my thoughts to myself until Lady wandered off, and then I looked down to see what was happening at home. I knew that I shouldn't do it because I would feel as bad as Lady did, but I just wanted to see Dad. See, Dad and me were soulmates. I picked him out when I was just a pup, and he was always my special person. Don't get me wrong - I loved Mom, too, but Dad and I had a super-sensitive link to each other. Anyway, when I looked down at our house, there was Dad sitting out on the porch and he was watching Harvey and Buddy playing. It kind of hurt me because I guess Buddy has taken my place, but I still love Dad more than anything. I wonder if he ever thinks about me...

Hey Lucky, this is Dad. If you can see me down here, I hope you can see that I still miss you as much as I did the day you left me. I still carry your picture with me, even though it is getting kind of worn and torn. I have it right where I can see you each time I open my wallet. I never had a dog that I loved like I do you. You were my soulmate, Lucky. You knew what I was thinking, you knew when to get me to play and you knew when to cuddle with me. We almost seemed to share the same heart, and my heart broke when you had to leave us. I don't know if you can see, but your Mom gave me this T-shirt and it has your picture right here - see it? You are right over my heart, Lucky. I loved Lady, and I love Buddy and Harvey, but you will always be my heart dog. I love you, Lucky - and you will always hold a very special place in my heart and mind. Love, Dad

I Miss the Snow...

I was sitting here at the Bridge the other day and decided to check up on my family down below. They were getting snow! Oh boy, I used to love playing in new fresh snow. I'd stick my nose under it and throw it in the air so it would fall all over my back, then I'd roll in it and eat it. Mom or Dad would get a warm towel when I finally came into the house and would rub me down real good and then I'd get up on my big stool in front of the thing that blew warm air and have a good long nap. We don't get snow up here at the Bridge, so I guess that is one of the things I miss ... but I miss my family most of all.
