Arrival Story:
Mom received him as a Christmas gift in 1981 by her mom. I was born years later. My brother grew up with him since he was born, my sister as well. I was very young back then, but I do remember some moments being with him. The biggest memory I have: I loved macironi and cheese... I would eat it at the kitchen table and Digger would come by and sit by me. I always gave him a scoop or two, I had a teeny tiny spoon back then so it wasn't much. I remember one day in 1995, we all gathered in the backyard and the leash he was always tied to was snapped in two, only the half we had was the part tied to the tree. Digger had run away... we were devistated. I had a dream he was stolen that night. We found his tags in the grass and did what we could to see if we could find him. My brother was very upset and kept his tags hanging on his wall in his room. I was upset myself. He was the first pet I ever had. Life grew lonely and quiet without him. Mom would always tell me he was an old dog, 14 years old. His snow-white fur was turning grey and tan, his hearing was decreasing and he seemed to have been going blind. I never cared, because he was my friend. I also remember helping mom feed him. Him and dad were very close, too. They did a lot together. Although I was 3 or 4 years old, I can still remember him. I missed him dearly after his disappearance... he was my very first friend.

Digger,

I still miss you so much. I look at your pictures as a puppy and I think of how happy you were. You lived a long healthy, happy life with us, it's just I wish I knew you sooner.

I hope you've had the best years over the Rainbow Bridge. You're in my memories and heart. We all love you so much!

This is a special Tail of Devotion
