Arrival Story:
Fritz was obtained through poodle rescue and had sabatious adenatis enherant in poodles. We used to bath him two times per month and give him thyroid medicine. His hair fell out, but he was a loving dog and we adored him! My husband used to say we were growing our own breed of poodle-"Bald Poodle"! Fritz had a daughter Josie who was also rehomed with us after living with the handler as her pet. Josie liked to eat toys and create mischief, totally opposite of her Father Fritz who was calm and laid back. Josie died of cancer in April 2006, and Fritz passed away in April of 2008 which broke our hearts. Both Fritz and Josie were retired champion show dogs and in the beginning did not know how to play. They sooned learned and had a great time together. Josie was definitely the Alpha dog! We missed her greatly, but rehomed Albert, better known to us as Bert, a three year old poodle, also a champion show dog, which helped us heal our loss.

Bio:

Goodbye Dear Fritz

On Thursday, April 24, 2008 our beloved Fritz left us to be with his deceased daughter, Josie. It is a sad time for us all, however Fritz was struggling with kidney failure, old age, frailty and demensia. We knew this day would come to pass and hoped he would gently fall asleep, however it was not meant to be. We were with Fritz to the end as he looked at us and went into a peaceful sleep. He did not struggle but was set free to not be suffering further. We know he is running and playing and looking down on us from above and we are so grateful for the many years we had with him. He was such a loving dog, sweet natured and well mannered and he never changed. Fritzy boy you are missed beyond measure.

Old Man Cough

Boy did I give my mistress and her son in law a scare the other night. I got this thing in my throat and I was snorting and gagging and coughing but I could not quite get whatever it was up. I was running to corners and trying to hide and can you imagine an old man running? Well it was a sight to behold. My mistress she was right there soothing me all the time and Mason was right there too. They looked on the computer to see if I might have symptoms of "Bloat" and they thought for sure I was a gonner, but not me, I'm like a cat with nine lives! All of a sudden I had this big expulsion of gas and I burped up my dinner! The sound was so explosive that my mistress jumped back in shock! Wow did that ever feel GOOD! After that I rested because I had been through a big ordeal for such an old man. I knew I would be alright but boy my mistress she was in distress and she was so worried about me. I'm glad my mistress loves me!

The next day Mason called to check on me. He loves me too. I was the same frisky old guy as I always am. I just had a big ole gas burp. Oh BURP..........-Umm that feels so GOOD!

My youngster Pal-Ace

Hey I got a new youngster pal-Ace, who has come to live with us. He is something else. I watch him leap and prance and run like the wind and he is so funny. He and Bert go at it in the back yard leaping into the air and bumping each other and playing and my mistress laughs on while I decide to lay down and watch them! I still get a thrill out of watching the whole activity as they bounce around like rubber balls and run like they were at a Greyhound race track.

You know every night and every morning I get my old dog pills wrapped in cheese and because of ME, Ace and Bert get little bits of cheese and then we all get 3 dog cookies each. Well they are lucky they have me because little do they know but I'm what allows them to get these goodies!

I actually like the new youngster pal-Ace. Right away when he came in the house he sniffed me and made friends and never once caused me any heart ache. He must know I can't be bounced around at my age because he usually just lays in the same room with me when he needs some down time. I'm glad he came as a new addition to our family. He has really taken to the master and mistress of the house and follows them all around!
