Summer and Frisbies

Early this morning my mistress went outside to play with Ace and I. She got out 3 Frisbies and a rubber "stick". She threw them all over the yard and we ran and ran and chased each other because if I have a certain Frisbie Ace wants it and if he has a certain Frisbie I want it!

We have a nice soft Frisbie we like and we both have been pulling it and it is ripping little by little. It is fun to find the weak spot in the Frisbie and then pull some more and hear that little ripping sound. We are so spoiled, we chew up our toys and then we get more!

OK got to run now it is nappy time!

Poodle Romp

Wow wee, Ace and I went romping with the poodles today at the park and I haven't seen that many poodles in a long time. There were about 50 poodles, some smaller than me, some bigger than me and some just right like me! I saw some funky looking mixes, a bright red pup poodle, some stuck up poodles, and some barky little bit poodles. There were some snow white poodles, not sure if they came from the article circle, but I guess not since it was hot enough to melt them and they weren't dripping so I guess they were just white fur and not ice. There was a poodle like me that was blue and we met a little bit of a thing named Harley that my Mistress said was cute. Harley was found by the side of the road with two broken legs and a broken pelvis. He is just fine now thanks to Poodle Rescue who took him an got him healed and homed. The Poodle Romp today was in sponsorship of Poodle Rescue. There were dog treats and lots of human treats that we didn't get any of! There was a swimming pool but we stayed clear of that thing. All in all it was a good day. We came home and layed right down. After the big day we were tired!

I'm BACK!

Wow it has been over a year since I got on here and let you all know how I am doing. Our family lost our standard poodle pal Fritz last year and our mistress just didn't feel like getting on here. Her heart was broken, but she is feeling better now and feeling like we should begin strutting our stuff again! I am still going to obedience and rally classes but now I have to share my time in class with my son Ace who lives with us. That little young pup is very attached to the mistress. He sticks to her like glue! The mister goes with us and he takes care of either Ace or me when the other is training. I can do circles around my son because he is new at this fun training. I am an expert and I can really show off! I jump the high jumps and when my mistress gives the commands I know them and I immediately follow. Our trainer says that Ace will learn from me because I am so smart! See she knows quality when she sees it!

I do Important Work!

Well my mistress said I have to go to work on Tuesday. I do very important work you know, because I am special! My Master will take me to work and I will spend a couple days with Kim at the special place I go to work at. My work is providing "champion" stud service and I do it so well. You see I have many, many pups, some like Ace, my son that lives with me, who are champions.

Ace and I have been having a great time playing. We romp and jump and dance and tear up the yard with our antics. We look like sumo wrestlers bouncing and changing directions and bumping and head locking. It is so great to have a live wire in the house instead of just the old dog who sleeps all the time! I get along so well with Ace because I have a wonderful temperment.

Next month we are going to go to Half Moon Bay in the Motor Home and it will be so much fun. My mistress has been practicing with Ace getting him to jump in and out of the Motor Home and the car. When he first arrived he didn't like the car very much but he is getting to be a semi pro at it now so he gets to ride with me when we go pick up the Mistress every day. She loves to see us when she gets in the car and smell her ear and let her know I love her!

Well work is scheduled for Tuesday so I better go rest up for the big days ahead...............

Ace Finishes

On Wednesday, January 23, 2008 my life changed forever! My son Ace finished his championship and came to live with us. I think he is bigger than I am and wants to take charge of things. I've been here longer so I want to retain my rights as leader of the dog pack-my mistress is really pack leader over all but I think I am big stuff around here. I am glad to have a new play mate to have fun with. I know Ace will really like it here. It is day 3 today and he is adapting very well to our routine. He must know Fritz is old because he doesn't bother him at all and they seem to really like each other, sniffing and resting together in the same room. Well everyone loves the old dog, but not as much as ME, cause I'm SPECIAL!

Margaret and Barry come to Visit!

In early January Margaret and Barry Austin came to visit me. They live in England at own the Serekunda Poodle kennel where I was born and they are very special people. They own my sister Victoria who I haven't seen in a long while and who is a champion in England. I live here in America and have practically since I was born. This is where I championed and where I stay. I am glad as I live in a fun house with another old poodle, Fritz who is 13. I would like a younger play mate and my mistress says when my son Ace finishes his championship then he will come live with us. I will have lots of fun then.

Margaret and Barry love me and they brought Fritz and I a stuffed play squirrel and owl. We promptly tore into those toys that had those fun little squeakers in them and had them apart in nothing flat! At Christmas they sent us these fun stuffed flowers that had about 10 squeakers in them. Those lasted us a little while but we were bound and determined to get those squeakers out of all the petals!

I was sad to see Margaret and Barry leave because we had a good time with them while they were here, but next time maybe they will stay with us and we can see them more!

Ace goes to the Majors or is it Ace WINS a Major?

On Sunday after Thanksgiving I went to the Stockton, CA Dog show to get my eyes Cerfed, while I think it was really an eye CERF test, but they put drops in my eyes and a light in them later and so it was like surfing, well I think it was like surfing, spray going in all directions like a light going back in forth in my eye? Well anyone that test was a OK and my mistress was happy.

Next we went to see Kim my old handler show my son Ace. Well I looked him over and I thought WOW is he a pretty boy or what, all black and beautiful hair, and I thought boy am I GLAD I don't have to have all that hair on me anymore or brushed and sprayed and prettied up for showing. I got my championship a long time ago and I'm a stud if I do say so myself. Ace he is a youngster yet and he struts his stuff really well. How could he not with me as his Father right? Kim brought him into the ring and he stacked well and he pranced and he ran and he looked beautiful because my mistress said so! Well what do you know he won a Major and everyone was so happy. This was the first time my mistress had ever been to a show, let alone seen Kim showing, and it was a big event because Ace WON a Major! Now Ace probably thinks he is going to the Majors but he already was at the Majors, I mean he won a Major, oh boy I think I am rattling on about my Son because I am so proud! That Ace he is really something. I wish you could see him. Well maybe we will get a photo up on Dogster of my son and I together. He looks like me you know!

Macho Camacho Bert goes to Class with Kekoa

Well here I am the big Macho Camacho stud Poo Dell and I am Prince of the Roost around here you know. Kekoa the "Grand Puppy" comes every week for a run around the yard and then we go to Rally class. I want to let him know that I am boss when he comes here, even though he is much heavier than I am. He runs around like a young pup and gets all excited before class. Then we get in the car and I start licking his head-his stiff horse coat fur feels real good on my tongue! My mistresses son in law, Mason calls me Macho Camacho Bert because I absolutely will not let Kekoa alone on the way to and from class. I am relentless and he cowers on his side of the seat while I lick away or try to paw at him. Mason told me last week that I have to ride with the seat belt next time so I will stay away from Kekoa but I think it is fun to let Kekoa know who is boss around here. I have to keep the young pup in line you know! Besides I like the name Macho Camacho Bert! It makes me feel real good when Mason calls me that and he pets me. I am loved by one and all, even the grand pup Kekoa!

Well we are getting ready to go away to the Sacramento River for a weekend Motor Home outing this weekend and it will be so fun. My mistress bought the old dog and I two new beds and a new soft blanket throw. She spoils us and we love it!

Bert does the RiTz

Well I just have to say that Fritz is not the only one who can put on the Ritz. We went to Half Moon Bay this weekend in our Motor Home and it is on the Pacific Ocean. We took long walks and low and behold there was the beautiful Ritz Carlton Hotel right by where we stayed and it had a 19 hole golf course. Well you know me and grass! I decided I wanted to try to golf so my mistress being the fun loving person she is took me off lead and I tore up the golf course! You should have seen me fly and the grass clods were flying up behind me and I was in seventh heaven. There were big sea gulls to chase and the grass was green and dewey. My mistress she laughed and clapped and cheered me on. I had a fabulous time "doing the RiTz"! I hope we go back there soon.

Ralley Workshop

Today my mistress, her son in law Mason, his dog Kekoa and I went to a Ralley workshop. Man it was a lot of work. My mistress put me through my paces and we spent from early morning to noon at the event. There were a lot of dogs there and a lot of poodles. I found a male poodle that I wanted to play with but he growled at me so I backed off. I was wagging my tail and thought it would be fun to play but no dice there. Mason gave my mistress some grilled chicken to give me and that was a treat. I got string cheese too. I was not particularly found of the wet grass on my bottom so at first I didn't want to sit anywhere but then I got more used to it as the sun came out and it started drying up a bit. My mistress came home with wet shoes and socks as this event was our first and we didn't know what it would be like. Next time though we undersand to wear waterproof boots and come more prepared for the elements. It was cold in the morning too but it warmed up. My mistress found a nice pet shelter that is portable and I think she is going to buy one for me so when we go to these events I can be comfortable and lay down between events. We had a good time though and I was good. I went through my paces and now we know what we need to work on. It was a nice day to spend so much time with my mistress alone and to leave the old dog home. You know he is such a pain in the neck, but he sleeps a lot and he did come first. My mistress really loves us both!

The weather is starting to turn cool now and pretty soon my mistress is going to start putting my coat on me in the mornings when I go out. She has to keep the old dog and I snug as a bug in the rug. Kekoa had his sweater on this morning as he has a slow start when it is cold. He did good today though and I am proud of him because he got his CGC! I got mine first though but at least he now has his.

We are off this weekend to Pelican Point and I bet we will have fun there. If it is cold we will be snugged up in the Motor Home with the heat blaring and the smells of scented candles surrounding us. We love to go in the Motor Home and lay on the couch next to our mistress. See you when I get back...........
