Likes:
He is obsessed with food, likes giving lots of kisses, likes scaring people besides his mommy away, he likes sticking his tongue up your nose!

Pet-Peeves:
When people get too close to his mommy...cats...not getting to eat Peanut's food...he hates it when I hide my face from his kisses, he will scratch at my head until I give him my face lol

Favorite Toy:
anything that squeeks...especially plastic ones that he can rip pieces off of to eat that yummy rubber! He really likes his red lobster toy that makes a lobster sound. He likes the treat ball and get's really mad and barks at it when no treats are left.

Favorite Food:
Innova Evo, bully sticks, human food, cheese...he really will eat just about anything except for fish...

Favorite Walk:
he is laid back, he goes where i go, he knows the word "out" now and him and Peanut fight for who gets their leash on first!

Best Tricks:
He knows lots of tricks...sit, down, paw, roll-over, crawl, come, leave it...he knows some words like "eat" and "out"

Arrival Story:
I found him on petfinder and talked with a foster network for about a week until they decided to meet up because they were wary that I was only 22. When we met they decided 5 minutes later to give him to me though! I met him on August 3rd, 2006, brought him home that night and he has been here ever since.

Bio:
Rocky was found tied to a pole when the rescue got him. He was adopted out once, but they returned him to the rescue. I am pretty sure Rocky had a tough life before I got him. He has been really aggressive to new people and anyone who comes near me. We are working on it though. It's kind of funny because the first second that I met him, he ran up and gave me tons of kisses! He is extremely attached to me and doesn't really appreciate anyone, including his daddy to come near me.

New beginning, new family

Hey everyone. Rocky's mom here. We adopted Rocky over 3 years ago when he was about 2-3 years old. Rocky was severely abused, emaciated and in really rough shape when he came into our lives. We worked with him every day and tried everything we could to help him. From behaviorists, to trainers, to trying different behavioral things on our own, to medication and through lots of bites, blood and even an emergency room visit. In the end, it turned out that we would just have to live with Rocky's unpredictable snapping. In July, we were blessed to find out that we were going to have our first child, a beautiful baby girl. She is due in March of 2010. We thought long and hard about what would be best for Rocky and for our family as a whole. We were told to put Rocky down before, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to do it, even with this new circumstance. So, after months of looking we found somewhere for Rocky with a nice couple that has no children and that has 3 other dogs. Rocky has become their friend and he always gets to sleep in the bed at their house and he has a big bay window to lay in and look out of. It was the toughest decision that we have ever had to make. It was a necessary one though and that it was got me through it. We miss him very much, but we know that this was for the best and we are very happy to hear that Rocky is adjusting extremely well to his new place. Some dogs just cannot be changed no matter how much you do to try and fix it. I feel so sorry that Rocky become a product of the horrible abuse that he endured as a young dog and I love him very much and feel so bad that we couldn't keep him, but we had to do it.

Sandy's Cute Contest!

Hi!

I'm Rocky and I am not cute!

My Mom is making me do this. I am not cute because I eat poop and I lick my butt and I bite people!

Things that mom thinks are cute is when I hide under the blanket and how I clean my sister and brothers faces all the time. She thinks it's really cute that I love her so much that I try to bite daddy sometimes when he gets too close even though she doesn't like that I do that and tries to stop me. She thinks that I'm really cute because I have really unusual markings like a ridge on my back that big Rhodesians have, but I am only under 20 pounds. Mom thinks it's cute that I have an underbite, even though my breath smells from eating all of that poop I was talking about earlier. Mom thinks that I am super cute for having such a rough life before she adopted me and now being the best buddy ever.

I am too manly to admit being "cute", you other boys need to stand up for yourselves and don't let these women make us all mushy!

Thank you all for trying to help me...

Well, Mom says that she is stuck with me! The vet thinks that I should be euthanized...whatever that might mean...mom says that even if she agrees...that is never gonna happen...

I just wanted to say thanks to you all for trying to help me get better. I know that I am bad sometimes, I am just confused. One of my past families just tied me to a pole in the middle of the night and never came back. Then my next few families kept returning me to this "foster" home...whatever that means. All I know is that I didn't get enough food at any of those places, because I was way underweight! I eat a lot now though and have gained 4 pounds since I have been here in the past 6 months...which is a lot for a little guy like me! Anyway, am I supposed to like everyone when people in the past were so mean to me?!!! I sooooo don't think so!

I am off of my Clomicalm and Mom is going to ask the vet for something else! I sleep in my crate everynight with no problems now, so that I don't pee in the bed when I have my bad dreams. Mom loves to cuddle with me, but she goes crazy when she has to wash sheets at 4 am in the morning, so the crate is okay. There is a sherpa bed in there and 2 fleece blankets from Mommy's bed in there. She leaves 1 toy and a bully stick in there at night, just in case I wake up and am bored!

That's about it...I love you all(Rocky's Mom talking) for everything...I have never felt so much support for anything in my life and I really need it with Rocky...the hardest thing I have ever dealt with is the thought of having to put an aggressive dog down...it's just so sad...you wish there was just something else to do....
