I will be leaving the earth today.
It's a decision my pawrents and doctor have reached, and I'm ok with it. Me and my mum have been silently contemplating it for a few days now. My spirit is strong but my little old body won't work for me any more, and it's time to get ready for my next big adventure. In the meantime, I will be able to see Tyler and Missy at the Bridge and once again the Three Musketeers will be together!
They say they are preparing a special spot for me and are waiting with open paws. I am ready to fly to them.
Please woof a little for my sad pawrents. Although they understand it's time for me to leave, they are still very sad. They will be saying goodbye to their third special furpanion within the last 12 months, and that's hard.
But I will always be their Poohmeister, and we will meet again someday.

... to all my friends for their purrs and woofs and gifts. It really means a lot to me!
I am being a good boy while in hospital but I'm very weak and sick. Mum is visiting today and will find out more about a realistic prognosis.
Keep your paws crossed for me!
Love,
Pooh

I have been in ICU since Sunday and there's no sign of my doctors saying the words everyone wants to hear: "Pooh can go home"...
Mum has been traveling since Friday so she hasn't been able to see me. For days it looked like I was going to start my journey across the Bridge before she got home, but I managed to hang on. I have been waiting for her, and she will come to see me today for 30 whole minutes. That's all they will allow...
My dad has been so good to me while mum has been away. He has been very afraid of what might happen. Now we'll take things a little step at a time.
My regular vet warned mum that this is how it would happen, and that soon I would be joining Missy and Tyler over the Bridge. I miss them sooooo much and I'll be happy to see them again, but I will miss being with my mum and dad. I know they will miss me too.
Please woof or purr for me and my family. There have been too many losses lately, and this is hard to bear.

Well I now know that I have two things to deal with. I have nephritis and hypothyroidism.
This means I have pills to take for the rest of my life - one is to help my thyroid and one is a heart pill that also helps preserve the kidneys. I am a good boy about taking them because I know that I get a little piece of cheese afterwards, BOL.
What's not so good is the yucky new diet. Because of my renal failure I can't eat protein any more, so it's K/D for me. However.... I hate it! I won't eat the dry or the wet, and mum is trying all sorts of bribes to get me to eat, but I refuse. She says she's going to do some reserach to see if she can find a tasty alternative.
Kidney disease sucks!

I haven't been very well... it seems as though ever since Tyler went to the Bridge, things have been on a slide.
I went to my new vet (who I liked very much!) and he took blood and pee pee and had a good look at me. He couldn't feel my organs because I was very tense. Maybe I am in pain.
Mum just got my results and they're not great. I have lots of protein in my pee pee and have been diagnosed with nephritis. I have to have some special new food to try and prevent or postpone kidney failure.
But besides that, I have very low thyroid values and the vet thinks this might be a sign of something else, so I have to have a thyroid test and an x-ray to see if there is something on the inside causing all of these things... I will have my x-ray on Saturday.
In the meantime, I am still going for walks and still keeping an eye on the cats. That's my job. And of course I'm being a good boy for my mummy!

It's been a looooong time since I wrote in my diary, pups. But this is important... You see my big cat brother Tyler is now fighting cancer.
I am there for you buddy! You have always been a friend to me from the very beginning - even when I first came in the house and gave you fleas, you didn't seem to mind. You were always a cool kitty and let me hang with you.
Now I woof for you every moment I get. If any cat can fight this nasty disease and prove the doctors wrong, you can. They have given you 6 - 8 months, but I say you have no sell-by date!
When you choose to walk around the garden, I will chaperone you. When you decide to lay in the sun, I will watch over you. When you want to be left alone, I will respect your wishes. But always know, dear friend, I am looking out for you and have your back. I may only be a little dog, but my love for you is as big as the Universe.
I am with you.
Love,
Pooh

I have been tagged by the lovely Zita, bella bella!
What fun - all my cat brothers and sisters have already been tagged - I was feeling left out, but now I'm not, BOL!
For anyone who doesn't know, here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Then they have to post the rules and their 7 pawsome facts in their diary, along with the names of 7 other dogs they are tagging. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
Here are Seven Facts you probably didn't know about me. Drumroll please....
1. I love to be clean. I don't like the bath process but I love the outcome and do circuits around the house to celebrate (and dry off!)
2. I stand on my front paws to pee-pee.... yes I do handstands and cartwheels and have been known to stop traffic:)
3. I got my name Pooh because I'm a Poo-dle. When I first adopted my mum, she thought I belonged to someone and had got lost so didn't give me a name "just in case". She called me Poodle, which eventually became Pooh.
4. I love toys! I particularly like toys that are bigger than me. I collect them together and move them around according to "where they should be at that time". Sometimes this is my crate, sometimes I pile them under the coffee table, but if you take one away and put it somewhere else, I will bring it back to its proper place.
5. I am a very smart boy, but I don't do casual tricks or commands. They are beneath me. I tell my people when I need to go out and come back in; I know how to stay, but usually choose not to; of course, I sit for a biscuit but everyone does that. However, I have one great skill - I can talk. REALLY! I talk to everyone in growls and arrrrrrs, and do lots of woo woo woos, but most of all I like to say "hello" to my dad when he gets in from work. It always cracks him up.
6. I am afraid of other dogs, unless they come to my house to make friends, but I love cats! I think I might be a cat - I'm the same size as my cat brothers and sisters, and I do everything they do (well almost). If they can sit on your lap, so can I!
7. I am a big mummy's boy... yes it's true. I am her shadow, where she goes, I go. I sleep next to her side of the bed and won't get up until she gets up, even if my dad gets up early with the cats. Not me, I stay right by my mummy until she's ready to face the day.
Well there you are, now you know! I think I'm going to tag
1. The luscious Lakota who makes a great pirate - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/386376
2. Seargant Crackers, who looks like my better self - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/360709
3. My beautious beagle-friend Alexis - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/441442
4. The little Yorkie wonder Gabby Doodle - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/398786
5. The totally handsome Dunkin Clyde - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/296933
6. Glorious Gizmo, who loves to chase varmints - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/361031
7. My Huckleberry friend who loves toys as much as I do - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/322267
Have fun out there everydoggie!

Well Dogsters, Christmas has been wonderful! Treats, turkey leg meat, oh the wonder of it! But alas a very sad thing happened too...
Boris the Spider is not doing well. He's now very bald (which my dad says is an "OK thing to be") but I ripped off several legs again and mummy doesn't think she can fix him this time. Somehow I disembowelled him too and now he has no stuffing left. He's flat as a pancake...
Mummy said she would buy me a new one, but therein lies a problem. She has never seen another one like him! I love Boris so much that even though I have Larry The Lamb and Weiner Dog, Boris outshines them all. If I can't have Boris, I think I will be very sad! He's like my "Blanky"!!!!
Mummy said she's going to "surf the Internet" whatever that means. I can't imagine Mummy going surfing, but perhaps it means she's going to look for a replacement Boris really hard. At least that is what she promised and if there's one thing I know about that gal, it's that she tries very hard to keep her promises...
So Wish me luck friends, and wish me a new Boris!
Love to you all, and Happy New Year!

Well Pupsters, my Caney Cat is doing much better! Thank you all - "HUGE THANKS" - for keeping us in your thoughts and checking in by email and the forum. It has meant the world to us all!
Caney is eating now, although mum still has to give him food by tube to make sure he gets all his meds. No one is really sure if he's eating because he wants to, or if the appetite stimulant he takes twice a day is the reason... either way, he's eating a lot! He even stole my kibble! That's OK, he can have anything he wants as long as he keeps getting better. He's been my special project since he came home, and I've been practicing my guarding skills on him every day.
I really love all my cats - and I'm still looking out for that big naughty dog who did this bad thing! If I see him, I'll.... I'll.... well I'll think of something.
Love,
Pooh
