Star's Diary

4 weeks

Four weeks ago, Star had her first litter of puppies. She has been a fantastic mommy to three boys and two girls. All of them are Red and White like their mom (and dad too!). She was very attentive to them when they still had their eyes closed. And she has always been very good about letting people handle her puppies. She doesn't make a peep when you pick one up, but she won't take her eyes off her baby until it is back in their pen. When they started to teeth she did didn't mind when they would bite her paws or pull on her ears or try to catch her tail. Now that they are pretty steady on their feet and can walk (and RUN) around, she is great at teaching them how to play. She is like a big puppy herself. I really am so proud of her. I know that she will raise a great litter of the next generation of Italian Greyhounds, so here is to Star and her beautiful babies.
