A study in birds

I studied birds today. By a pond at the botanical gardens. It all started at home, when I asked ah ma if I may go out to fly. Ah ma said, ok, pingping may go out to fly.

It is because I run so fast I am like the wind. In the botanical gardens, I ran so fast I was dragging fomfomfom behind me. Then we ended up at a pond. I watched 2 birds having a chat. I watched them for a long time, all that birdy talk bored me and I trotted up the path. And guess who it was walking down but ah bee! A rendezvous! We held hands and trotted together.

Then it started to drizzle and we went back into the car and went home. I was tired so I told cha I'll start on my thesis only tomorrow. My thesis is called, a study in birds by the pond and an indepth discussion on their communication channels and their effects on passers by.

Xiaoping says...

This morning my ah gong was screaming for the new maid merilyn. There were birds at the kitchen outside, ah gong complained bitterly. We should be vigilant, all of us. Merilyn nodded enthusiastically, now she has birds on top of ants.

I volunteered to be the scarecrow. Fomfomfom said scarecrows don't have so much hair all over. I was dismissive. To quote one certain xiaoping, it doesn't matter if a scarecrow is hairy or spotty. As long as it scares away the birds, it is a good scarecrow.

I went to the botanical gardens to chase birds today. Giggle.

My poopie

I woke up at 7 today. Ah ma walked past cha’s room and I promptly woke cha up so that she could let me out. She wasn’t too happy at being woken up so early so she took her own sweet time in opening the door. I mean, how hard is it for her to get outta bed and open that door? Nooooo, she has to go to the loo, wait for her computer to start before she opening the door. I was complaining to Ah bee about it so that she could ask cha not to do it anymore. Cha said something about not wanting to let me run amok without adult supervision. I think what she means is she doesn’t want me eating my poopie without her realizing. Giggle.

I was so tired from waking up early that I spent the rest of the morning sleeping on the couch where it was nice and warm.

It rained again today. Fomfomfom and Ah bee wanted to bring me to the condo where I could run under shelter but Ah ma said no. She still remembers the mud on my buttocks yesterday. We tried telling her that it would be dry under the block but she would not hear us out.

So yes, I stayed in the entire day. I wasn’t too happy about that. And when I am not happy about not going to the gardens, I tend to forget how to poop.

They are still asking me where my poop is. Giggle.

Muddy Paws

So I went back to being HRHQP today. I am so meant to rule. The meteorological station had predicted rain but I am such a good queen not a single raindrop fell. Not till 1140pm anyway. But that is beside the point.

Of course we went to the botanical gardens today. We paid $0.37 but it’s alright. I saved a buck the past 2 days when it had been raining. Speaking of the rain, it is really quite something- everywhere is waterlogged. We were happily walking on the path today when Ah bee decided that the huge black dog in front of us was too much of a threat. So she led me down this grassy slope away from that dog. It was so much fun charging down that steep slope. At the bottom, the area was entirely flooded. Ah bee almost slipped and fell on her buttocks. But I have to give her credit for this- her sense of balance is amazing. She just had to fling her arms awkwardly a few times. But that was damn ugly. Quite a sight. That's what you get when your centre of gravity is so high. But I forgive her. I still love all of them, even if they are clumsy. And ugly. And let's not forget stupid.

Anyway, I had so much fun running about, splashing the water. My paws were all muddy and I even had mud stuck to my butt. That was when fomfomfom whipped out her phone and called cha to tell her to prepare my bath. Poo to baths! But I didn't really mind it that much this time coz I had so much fun and I haven't had one in 12 days already. Ah ma said I was starting to smell like a salted fish.

Ah bee's birthday

Today is ah bee's solar birthday. She is 22 years old and she wanted me to let her be queen for a day. I said, ok! So ah bee is Queen Bee today and I'm Princess Ping.

Ah bee's reign was rainy. It must be coz she's not a good queen, that's why it has been raining for 2 whole days. The basement is flooded again and the clothes are not dry. The natives are not very happy about the new monarch and the new monarch didn't do anything about the restlessness but went to party with her cronies. They had themselves a party and drank black mulberry wine and feasted on chocolate cheesecake. Queen Bee came back and tooted a party horn and I told her to stop it and give it to me.

Then at night Queen Bee got herself a King, and they had to immediately abdicate in my favour coz it was past midnight already. I made them commoners coz they didn't rule well.

All hail the Queen.

No kiddin'

We went to the vet. Later ah bee was joking she wants to catch me. I said, you catch me all you want, I dare you to bring me to the vet twice in a day. Ah bee said, what a courageous little thing! But of course.

So at the vet's...the vet woman said my ears have no more bacteria in them so we will see how the debris inside clears up in a month. So happy. It has been months, half a year perhaps, since I've been at the vet's regularly coz of my ears. No more eardrops. No more ear cleaning. No more ugly vets! The vet woman said we only have to put cotton balls in my ears during baths so water won't get in. But I don't do cotton balls in me ears. I told ah ma solemnly, it's the doctor's orders, no baths for a month.

At 6pm, ah bee told fomfomfom while we were cleaning ears today at the vet's for the last time, she saw robert holding a cotton bud with no cotton. She didn't know whether the cotton didn't exist or if it was in my ear. So fomfomfom gave ah bee a dressing down for waiting till then to speak, and we rushed to the vet's for the second time that day. It was pouring and traffic was bad. Luckily the vet woman didn't charge us any money for peering into my ears. We established the cotton didn't exist. Oh course robert wasn't negligent, of course we were embarrassed.

Fancy! Two visits to the vet in a day! And no botanical gardens.

3 years and 1 month and my coronation

Today is my birthday again. I am 3 years and 1 month old. It is also ah bee's 22nd lunar birthday. I think mine is a solar birthday. Isn't it wonderful?

So the vet woman called fomfomfom today and announced that the culture report has come back and my ears do not have any bacteria in them. This is so strange coz the vet man was telling fomfomfom and cha just one week ago that I had new coccus and rod bacteria in my ears and we thought my ears were bad. Anyway we were all very happy that my ears are now fine and we went to the botanical gardens.

It was rainin'. Then it stopped, and we prepared my water bottle and stuff and I put on my leash. We were about to skip happily out of the house when it started rainin' again. I was nearly in tears so ah bee and fomfomfom decided to bring me to the condo where I can run under shelter. A little way down the road, the rain stopped. So fomfomfom did a very big loop and we went to the botanical gardens. I ran and ran and I was very happy so I pooped. Then the ground was wet and muddy and I had 3 leaves on my belly. We went home and ah bee splashed water from the shower head at me.

Fomfomfom promised to crown me queen when my ear infection clears up. Today I am officially HRHQP. You may call me queen ping.

No botanical gardens

Yesterday ah bee was sick and she kept saying ah-choo in fomfomfom's face and this morning, one side of fomfomfom's face was sick.

It rained for a long time today starting last night at 1am. So we couldn't go to the botanical gardens. Therefore I didn't poop at the usual time and by evening, I'd forgotten how to do it. Ah ma kept asking where my poo is, and I told her I had forgotten how to poop.

Ah ma is going to china and I want to go too, but fomfomfom reminded me I don't have a passport. Cha is going with ah ma so I won't even have cha to sleep with at night when they are in china. I told ah ma I want to piggyback on her passport, or she should apply for a passport for me. Ah ma said she would, but fomfomfom said I have too much facial hair, and I won't be able to get a passport coz they might mistake me for a terrorist. But I can't shave off all my hair or I won't be pretty. Ah ma is going to china to attend a wedding! I can't attend if I'm not pretty. So I have to stay at home.

Grumble.

A small white dog scared me

It is mahjong day. I was guarding the mahjong girls when cha and fomfomfom tried to entice me into going out to play. I smelled a rat and didn't want to go, coz we never go out to play in the mornings. But I was also scared of missing out in case we were really going to the botanical gardens so I reluctantly let cha carry me. I ended up at the vet's.

We cleaned ears.

In the afternoon we went to the botanical gardens for real. Cha was holding my leash and a small white dog came running to me and I wanted to run away coz I don't like strange small white dogs but cha didn't let me and she didn't carry me either. The dog came near me and I panicked but I still couldn't go anywhere coz I was leashed to cha and the dog suddenly rushed towards me and I ran and our leashes entangled around cha's legs and she fell down. Fomfomfom carried me immediately. I was a little upset at cha.

Later, she carried me when I was tired and when she tried to put me on the ground, I landed on my cheek.

I'm very upset at cha today.

Ah ma is back!

Ah ma and ah bee came back today! They had many more bags than when they went, and there were many new things but none was for me. But I was happy coz ah ma came back.

Earlier in the day, cha and fomfomfom brought me to the botanical gardens. There was a jack russell who barked at me and I took a detour but it kept barking. Its owner told him to be nice. Cha said "so gay", and we walked away and fomfomfom was horrified coz cha was loud and we were still near the people. Cha got an earful from fomfomfom and we continued walking while fomfomfom kept a lookout for any men rushing at us with knives from behind. Later on, we met another 2 pretty men with a mini schnauzer who kept barking at me too and we walked silently away till very far and then fomfomfom told cha, "You can say it now."

Giggle.

And I bit fomfomfom this morning when she tried to carry me to have eardrops put in my ears. I bit her in both hands coz her reaction was so retarded. There were many holes oozing blood but this puncture in her left thumb I'm particularly proud of. She whimpered, pain pain, and then when I was ready to have eardrops put in my ears, she couldn't do it coz she was almost fainting. She had to lie down for a while. Fomfomfom faints often and easily. She is useless.
