Ah bee’s hairdresser asked her if she knows what monchichi looks like. What’s a monchichi, she asked. He told her it’s a Japanese cartoon character, a monkey with big hair and he’d like to cut her hair like monchichi’s. I didn’t think there’d be a single woman in the world who would say ok after hearing that description but she proved me wrong. So yes, she’s brave that way, I give her that.

There’s a wake going on downstairs and Ah bee went down to offer our condolences and donation. Except the only person she knew wasn’t around, only her husband whom we have seen on occasion. After Ah bee said what needed to be said and handed over the donation, he thanked her and then asked, “You are?” “Er, the one with the dog,” she said weakly. Awkward!

And lastly, she stepped on a snail when we were on my evening walk. Sigh. At least she is contrite.

I don’t like her that much but I hope tomorrow brings better things for her.
