Arrival Story:
I adopted Riley as a very little puppy...I fell in love with his markings and he was the cutest brown and white beagle and he was the only brown and white in his litter...the rest were all tri colored. Riley came all the way from Arkansas to Rhode Island to his new home...and he's been a joy from day one! I still keep in touch with the breeder.... because she gave me such a wonderful gift! :)
Bio:
came from Cathy Beach in Arkansas....and we now reside in Middletown, RI I was so lucky with Riley...he's unlike a Beagle in many ways...he was sooo easy as a puppy and still is today.... he rarely gets into trouble and he's an "old soul" kind of guy...and will get frisky in spurts! He loves to howl like a hound dog...

My Riley has gone over the rainbow bridge and will be forever loved ...he was a faithful companion to the end... he made me a better person... I had him for 6 wonderful years and I don't regret a day of it...he always had the sweetest disposition. I will always love you Riley... there will be no other like you. peace and mommy loves you baby.

Well, last time I had wrote...Riley had leg surgery...not on one...but both...it was very traumatic for him and for us as a family...so hard to see him so injured... I wondered if he'd ever bounce back... and it was just very hard... well, the first surgery was in February 2007, the 2nd surgery on the good leg was in March 2007....and on Easter...in April 2007 he walked... rather than sliding himself around... it was amazing...everything was baby steps...
And now, we walk every morning for about 45 minutes... he's doing great...we go to an open field...and he just does his thing... he still has a way to go...getting in shape and all... but what a difference... AMEN! And then I have a very tired Beagle on my hands after that... its fantastic!

Well, Riley did beautifully after his surgery on his floating knee cap...however, then he injured his good leg...and it turns out he has torn the ligements and such on the knee of the good leg...and will need additional surgery. Its been one tough road...He can bearly walk...he's on meds for the pain and inflamation...and I've had to carry him everywhere... he's heavy too...so we've all (Duffy Riley and Mommy) have been sleeping on the couch...so my back doesn't go out or so I don't over due it because I'm the only way Riley can get around.
He's such an angel considering... and Riley has been such a good brother too. Riley gets re-examined on March 17th and hopefully he will be well enough to get the other surgery and have his legs back in tip top working shape...I can't imagine life with him healthy... I can't wait! I love my sweet guy!
