Arrival Story:
We bought Nikki from a breeder in Channelview, Texas. We had two different litters to choose from. My husband fell in love with Nikki right away but I was a little hesitant since she was the runt of the litter and was so small. I was leaning more towards another female that was bigger and seemed very playful. My husband insisted I take another look at Nikki so I picked her up and cuddled her. She gave me that special look and a sweet little puppy kiss and I was hooked. I feel in love with her right there and then. She made herself right at home as princess of the domain and we've been her slaves ever since catering to her every doggie whim.

Diary Of A Spoiled Dog

Monster's In The House

I haven't had much to add to my diary lately because I've been sulking under the bed for the past month and a half. Mommy and Daddy decided to bring home some new babies without my permisssion. I'm the queen bee and they never even thought about asking me if I would like some new playmates. Well, I would have said forget it. Now THEY get everything, even have the nerve to steal MY toys and sleep on MY bed with Mommy and Daddy. I growl at them every occasion I can get so maybe they'll go away.

Mommy gets really agravated with me. She has to keep us all separated because she's afraid I'll try to dispose of them when she's not looking. Good idea but she would know exactly who did it so I would be busted. Mommy keeps saying that we'll eventually all get along but I don't think so. That little brat Coco whines all the time and the other little pest, Willow, keeps getting in my face. Boy, I would love to get a good nip in there just once but I know I'd be sent to lockdown. So to keep the peace Dylan and me just relax under Mommy and Daddy's bed hoping that one day when we walk out into the kitchen they won't be there any more. Just wishful thinking. I may change my mind about them when they get a little older but I don't think so...

Remembering 9/11

Today was a sad day for all of us. I watched my mommy sit down before going to work to watch the morning news and she was crying. I remember her talking about losing a distant cousin in the World Trade Center. When Mommies sad it makes me sad too. So being the good dog that I am, I went up to her and licked her on the face. She looked at me and smiled and gave me a great big hug. Ah, a job well done!!!

Mom said that it's not just humans that have died because of 9/11 but the rescue dogs from 9/11 have been getting really sick and dying because of all the bad chemicals that were in the air. That saddens me and leaves me with a heavy heart. I'm just your typical female and get really emotional over stuff like this.

We all need to remember this day and never forget all who have lost their lives and others that are sick and suffering from the fallout from the World Trade Center.

I think I'll take a moment of silence and say a prayer for my own.

I Hate Weekdays

I'm so depressed today. I hate when Mommy and Daddy have to go to work. I've tried everything from lying flat on the floor giving them that big, sad-eyed look to actually running out the back door and hide in the back yard in hopes that I make Mommy late for work that she'll decide to stay home with me instead. I finally figured out that wasn't going to happen. It only makes her really angry and then once she catches me she storms out the door and doesn't even say bye. Then I sit around all day trying to figure out how I can make Mommy not mad at me anymore but when she finally gets home all is forgotten and she comes over to me with big hugs and kisses and I've got plenty of wet puppy kisses for her too.
