Arrival Story:
We met Tula when she arrived at the shelter with a litter of three day old puppies. She'd been impounded by the police when her owner, a homeless woman, was arrested. Even though she'd obviously had a hard life it was easy to see what a gentle, sweet dog she was. Eventually the puppies became old enough to be weaned and Tula was sent out with the other big dogs. Every time I went to the shelter I'd see here sitting there on the other side of the fence, looking at me with that beautiful face, trying to ask "Why won't you take me home and love me?". We did adopt one of her puppies, Oliver, but we never forgot about Tula. 6 months later and she was still living at the shelter. For some reason nobody was ever able to look past her over-excitement during the initial meeting to see what a fantastic dog she was. After a lot of discussion we finally decided to go get Tula and give her the home she deserved. Every time I look at that big smooshy face I can't believe how lucky we are to have her.

Bio:
American Bulldog is just a guess. Maybe she's AB, maybe Pit Bull, maybe a mix - who knows.
