Arrival Story:
Iris was adopted from Aussie Rescue in Michigan (ARIM). She had been surrendered to that group by her owner, who was abusive and didn’t want her anymore. At least he contacted the appropriate rescue group. That rescue group really checked us out thoroughly before we were approved to be adopters. One of the volunteers drove over an hour on a freezing January night to make a home visit! The next weekend we drove out to Albion, where Iris was being fostered and took her home. Her name at the time was Isis, but we didn’t feel it fit her at all. With the change of one letter, she became our little flower girl. She’s the sweetest dog you could imagine. She is extremely submissive to both people and dogs and had no problems fitting in with our “pack”.

Bio:
When Iris gets excited she makes a little mewing sound that makes us wonder if she’s part cat. Iris has taken three agility classes. She was really good at it and fast, too. There was only one problem – she is such a velcro dog we couldn’t get far enough ahead of her to get a head start; then we couldn’t keep up. The “stay” command never quite took hold!

Forums Motto:
Iris: I'm always watching you
