Mom and me time

My turn for grooming today! I got invited into the basement, just Mom and me. The other dogs had to stay upstairs.
It was very pleasant. Mom told me I was a good boy while she used the clippers on me. I did pretty good while she cut the hair on my legs and chest. We took a break and came upstairs and I went outside for awhile.
She touched up a few spots when we resumed the spa treatment.
One thing, I don't like to have my toenails trimmed. Ugh. I am not a good boy. I growl and jerk away right when Mom has the clippers ready to snip. She gets mad, I get mad. She got the job done. I really don't like to have my nails trimmed.
We came upstairs and I had my shower. That turns me into a wild dog! Bol I growl and root on the towels. But it feels so good to have shorter, clean hair.
I do enjoy my time with Mom, except for those toenails being trimmed.

Comfort Factor: 10

Mom has taken up a new hobby/handicraft. She, with the help of the internet and a couple of Dogster pals, has learned to crochet. She finds it relaxing and addictive.
Any hobby or craft around here is bound to wind up with some pet hair incorporated into it. She has pulled black dog hair out of her current afghan project. There are gray cat hairs finding their way into the design too. But this afternoon when I jumped up on Mom's left side while she crocheted, she didn't mind at all. Did you know that Schnauzers don't shed? Well, we don't. So Mom wasn't concerned with me adding white hair to the yarn as she worked.
She even covered me up with the afghan. It is warm, soft and very cozy.
On a scale of one to ten, I give it a ten on the comfort factor. And no white Schnauzer hair was crocheted into the work.

Yes, Zoe barks Much more than I, both outside and in her diary. She barks at any little thing. Don't tell her I told you this but I think she is in an unspoken competition with several other Dogster dogs for the Most Entries written. She is currently #24 of 76,233 most active doggie scribes. I have no idea where I stand, I have better things to do with my time than scroll through tens of thousands of doggie pages.
This is why Zoe barks perhaps two or three times in one day. One or two sentences.
Barking about nothing. Kinda like that Seinfeld show.
On the other paw, I may not bark much but my barking is quality barking.

Thank you Dogster for noticing my diary.

It's the little things

It was oh so chilly in our house this morning. When Mom got up I got up too and followed her into the living room. She tinkered with the woodstove to get things warmed up. I jumped onto the loveseat and Mom covered me with a nice fleece throw. She didn't see how I did it but somehow I moved to the other end of the loveseat and still had the cover on. Bol, I probably wore it over there. She tucked me in.
Later, she sat down on the couch across from the woodstove. I jumped onto her lap. She scratched my back and petted me. Ahhh, nice. I stayed there a long time. It was warm and cozy. Mom kissed me. She called me little names like "sweetie" and "good boy" and "fuzzy white boy".
It's the little things that make life wonderful.

Stealthy Keep-Away

Yesterday after being groomed and having my shower I played my Inside Keep-Away Game. I grabbed Puff my dragon and around and around I went. Usually my nails click, click, click on the kitchen floor. The tags on my collar jingle and jangle.
But since I had just had my nails trimmed (I hate having it done by the way) and I had just showered and didn't have my collar on, I was Very Quiet!
Very stealthy. Great fun.

Didn't see that coming

Mom was doing laundry. Our machines are downstairs. Tux and I were messing around down there. Then Mom was moving things off of the grooming table and setting up the clippers and such. Hmmm.
Next thing I knew, she invited me onto the table. She did this by lifting me up there.
Gosh, it seems like its only been a few weeks since we were professionally groomed.
But that is what was going on. I have been trimmed with the clippers and scissored with the, well, scissors. I am taking a break right now. I had a zoomie time outside with Zoe. I am faster than her.
I need to have my ears and nails and a couple of other details done next. Then it will be shower time.
I bet Zoe will be going invisible after my shower.

Sometimes when Tux and I go outside without the girl dogs we sniff around together. I am the boss dog over Tux so he does what I do. Like this:
I P 1st, U P 2

bol, do you get it?

Where did it go?

I just realized my nice blue Valentine background is gone. Vanished into virtual air.
I hope it will eventually come back.
At least Zoe still has her background. She would accuse me of taking it.

I can't see!

I love my new Dragon Baby toy! It is my new toy of choice for my indoor keep-away game.
I grabbed that dragon and started playing. Brother was "chasing" me. When I came around the corner of the kitchen and Mom saw me, she started laughing.
Both of my eyes were covered by the dragon's feet. I really couldn't see a thing but I knew my way around for the keep-away game.
With that, I put down the dragon and climbed on Mom's lap. I am fine Mom, I am not really needing two eye patches. bol
Later I resumed the game with a new hold on the dragon. Then I could see just fine.
