Could've used a Thundershirt

Ugh. Bad night at my house.
We started yesterday afternoon with some good thunderstorms and rain. They hung around and during the night (early morning) they became very loud and the lightning was so bright.
I don't like the noise. I became restless and started to tremble. I went over to Mom's side of the bed. She coaxed me up and I was able to settle down. For awhile.
I got off the bed and wouldn't get back up there. I trembled.
Mom found me curled up on the floor beside her bed this morning.

I wonder if earplugs might work.

Oh My! Thank You All!

Wow! I am completely overwhelmed! So many generous pups on Dogster! Thank you for making my birthday/gotcha day great!
It seems that Dogster is working more smoothly now. Yesterday it was a mess. So much mess that I wound up getting many more gifts from some of you than I should have.
We are going to have to thank you by listing your name and the gifts you sent. Mom is about to go off the deep end dealing with the work in the backyard and trying to keep us from going Nutzo in the house. We are becoming like little kids with cabin fever! Bol!
But on with the thank yous. I received some nice pmail messages and lots of bones. Thank you for all who had a paw in that.
Be sure to notice my great picture that Redford and his pack sent me. It's great!

Sabrina sent 3 steaks.
Duncan and Hamish sent 7 steaks.
Buddy, Scooter and Molly sent 2 steaks.
Sophie Claire and Harley Davidson sent 2 steaks.
Pennie and Drei Snarky Schnauzers each sent a steak.
My goodness! I have a side of beef on my page!

Petey and Mini Mischief each sent some cool, refreshing lemonade.

Sophie, Fizzy, Greta Grace and Roudy sent baseballs to play with.

Finley and Whitley each shared beach balls. Those girls both love to play in their pool.

Bella sent a pretty red heart.

Look at all the ice cream I received! Gallons and gallons!
Lexie and Buddy sent 7 cones. Little Women and the Fearless Four sent cones too. I will have to share all of that or I will have a tummy ache!

Jia, Dylan and Tiberius sent a hot dog to munch.

Hershey sent a chocolate cupcake.

Krickette sent a golden bone.

Austin and Doo and Zaidie made sure there were plenty of party hats to wear.

Pepper placed a beautiful emerald on my page.

Jelly, Simon and Millie gave me sparkly diamonds.

The D Dogs sent a fun crown to wear.

I hope I didn't skip any pup.

Thank you, thank you and thank you all for making my gotcha day very special! You pups are simply the best!

Dogster is So Totally Messed up!
Please save your zealies! I appreciate your gifts, I truly do.
But I feel guilty when I see that Dogster has eaten up so many zealies for trying to send one gift.

I may have to get Zoe to bark at Dogster.

I am still working on posting my very cool picture Redford made for me. It is not working. Gah!

And Dogster is so slow. We aren't able to post my very cool picture that Redford and pack sent. I already have lots of gifts sent.
Thank you!
We will see if this will post. Seems Dogster has a major case of fleas. Sure hope it gets fixed soon.

Quick trip to the vet

No one saw it coming. We were all outside, running to go inside. Tux and I were fussing and he snagged my right side with a tooth. Mom saw it all happen but didn't realize I had actually gotten injured until I was in for a few minutes. She noticed the blood and tried to wash me up to inspect the spot.
Off to the vet we went. The vet took a quick look and said we had a couple of options. One was to not mess with it and I could take a course of antibiotics to let it heal up on it's own. Or I could stay at the vet for awhile while they made me sleepy and put in some staples. That was more expensive but that was what Mom wanted to have done.
The vet put me "under", stapled me up, and brought me back out. All within an hour. Mom came back real soon. I have some Clavamox to take and then I have to go back to have the staples removed in about 10 days.
I was groggy on the way home but I didn't lay down. My head sure was droopy. Mom and I snuggled under a soft cover on her chair for a couple of hours. I should sleep very well tonight.
Oh and they had hooves there. Mom bought us each one. I plan on enjoying mine tomorrow.

A Tiny Red Herring

Sure enough, I am holding up my left front leg this morning. Just a little bit and I am not hopping. In fact, I am mostly walking on all fours.
But this time, Mom knows about the red herring. She saw what happened to make it come back.
Yesterday was a very nice day. Several people rode past on their bikes. Of course that means we have to bark at them. Tux runs back and forth from one corner of the yard to the other. He runs full blast like a hairy train engine. I was running too. Once I got in his path and that sent me tumbling. I got up and seemed to be fine.
But this morning Mom noticed I am holding up my left leg, just a bit and only sometimes.
Don't worry pals. I am sure I will be fine. I will take it easy today and rest. The red herring will be gone in no time.

A Red Herring

Mom took me to the vet today. I've been hopping since last Thursday. She thought I might have gotten bumped or something. But I didn't seem to be getting better. Until yesterday. Then I was off and on with the hopping. Same thing today. So I went to the vet.
He said my lump/bump site looked fine. No fever, no redness, no oozing. He felt my leg. No reaction.
He told Mom the lumpy bump surgery leg might be a red herring. I might have some other pain happening in my leg or maybe even in my back. I didn't let on that anything was bothering me.
I am to take a baby aspirin each day. That may help. If not, they would need to take some "scopes" to look around.
Hopefully I will start feeling better and I will take the baby aspirin.
I was a very good boy at the vet. Mom was very proud of me. Oh yes, I weigh 19.4 pounds.

Going back to the vet

I have been hopping on three legs again. Mom is going to take me to the vet today.
I began hopping last Thursday. Mom thought maybe I had gotten bumped outside. Tux runs back and forth like a wild dog and I could have gotten in his way.
Mom knew Friday I didn't feel well because I didn't help her clean the house. I always help her but I just didn't feel like it.
I am still hopping. Mom thinks my leg (where I had the bump removed) feels a bit warm.
Do I have another infection? This was supposed to be a simple surgery to remove the bump. Why can't it heal properly?

I will keep you informed.

Sad news, please pray

Would you say a prayer or two for Ron? He is part of the team of rescue folks that do so much good helping animals. They took me in when I needed a place. Then they delivered me to Mom.
You can read part of the email Mom received.

We found out on Dec. 7 that Ron has a brain tumor. We have been in SLC month of Dec., Jan and part of Feb. Finally home and enjoying being here. He went through 33 treatments of Radiation and Chemo. Will start Chemo again on Monday for 5 days on, 21 days off. Trying to shrink the tumor as it is inoperable. So we are praying for a miracle. I just know that God will answer our prayers… Sure never expected this one..
