A Mini keep-away game

Greetings and salutations! I realize I don't bark very often, Zoe takes up all of Mom's computer time.
But I must let you know of the new game I invented.
Some of you might remember that when outside I like to grab a Jolly ball and have a person chase me around our raised beds. That is where the folks grow strawberries, asparagus and tomatoes. This summer, in order to keep a certain little Schnauzer out of the strawberry bed, Pop put a fence around the whole place. No more keep-away game around the beds anymore. I still enjoy being chased around the yard while carrying a Jolly ball.

Last evening, Pop was chasing me. I was getting a bit tired and so was Pop.
I found a new place for a mini keep-away game.
At the corner of our patio area Mom has a small solar fountain flanked by two green planters.
It is just the right size for a couple of tired guys to play keep-away.

The folks laughed as I led Pop around a few times but I could tell they were impressed with my problem solving skills.

My birthday!

Actually, Mom should mark it as my Gotcha Day, that is more the truth. We don't really know when my birthday is. I am adopted, you see. Bol!

Wow, you Pals have been sending all kinds of wonderful gifts and messages my way. And I don't have to share with Zoe! It is probably hurting her little head trying to figure out a way to take those gifts away from me.
Oh well, she will just have to live with it.

I don't know what is in store for the day. Maybe we will get some home made Frosty Paws.

Thank you Pals for helping me celebrate my day.

Small murmur

Yesterday when the house call vet was here to give us our shots she heard a small heart murmur in me.
She told Mom this comes with age. Just like the faint cloudiness in my right eye.
Mom got some meds from her to help with my heart. Mom usually likes to do some research on this kind of stuff but yesterday she went ahead and got the meds.
Anyone have any experience with a doggie with a heart murmur?
The meds Mom got are called Enalapril Maleate. Later she found that they are used for high blood pressure. Of course, the vet didn't take my blood pressure. Maybe I should start laying off the salty potato chips. huh, huh, huh.

Anyone have any info we should know about? The one thing about this vet, she never talks about blood work or any other kinds of tests. Mom is wondering if she shouldn't take me to another vet.

And on another note, Mom had to patch me up this morning. The last fight Tommy and I had, I got a tear on my right shoulder. Pop patched it up. It was doing fine. This morning some how I managed to open it up again. Mom isn't much of a nurse but she tried. Now I am sporting a big band aid globbed up with anti-biotic ointment and some stretchy bandage to keep it all in place.

I can find my way home!

Oops. I did a bad thing.
We all went for a walk. That's a good thing. We all like to be able to run around off leash. We aren't anywhere near any roads. So we are safe.
But.... today I was running around and sniffing and exploring. Sometimes I don't listen very well. Mom thinks I might be loosing my hearing. I have selective listening for sure.
I just kept running and exploring. All the way home.
By myself.
The yard gate was open and I waited on the back steps until the others got home.
Give me credit. I Did know how to get home. Even though I was on the county road for just a little ways.

I think I will have to stay on the leash from now on.

Home groomed

The last time I went to the groomer she cut my hair real short, Mom decided give me a touch up and a bath here at home. Now I don't have to go on Monday when Zoe goes.
We went downstairs where the grooming table and equipment is kept. Mom put me up on the table and started up the clippers. Tux and Tommy were like vultures waiting for my hair to fall. Tux likes to eat it. Mom clipped a bit and picked up a bit. She didn't want Tux to get a hairball. Bol!
Then we took a break.
Mom talked to Pop about keeping the other three dogs upstairs while she and I went back downstairs to finish up.
And that is what he did. When we were finished and Mom and I came back upstairs the other dogs were nowhere to be found. They weren't even in the backyard.
After a quick potty break I had a bath. Now I smell nice. That made me a little goofy so Mom and I played my inside keep away game. But it wasn't in slow speed, I bumped it up a notch! Then I got a great big cookie. I didn't have to try to keep away from Zoe. She always tries to snatch my cookies and then the crumbs. I got to enjoy the crumbs this time.
Mom and I had some nice snuggle time. We even exchanged smooches.
The other dogs came back home. They had gone on a long walk with Pop. I missed a walk but I got some great time with Mom.

Another sweater!

Sister finished the sweater she was knitting for me over the weekend. Mom sewed on a couple of buttons and then they put it on me.
I barked and barked! I was so excited to have another new sweater! I had to grab a toy to keep myself quiet.
Sometimes I just get out of control. Bol

Shiver no more

It's been cold. I've been shivering since getting a very short haircut last week.
Mom put my little kid t-shirts on me. I wore them when I had my bumps removed. I liked wearing the little t-shirts and they did help me not to shiver so much. But they got in the way when I did my tinkle business. :-/
Mom went on the search for a sweater to crochet for me. She tried one pattern but it was giving her fits. She finally found a pattern and worked it up for me today. I love my new sweater.
And Sister came home over the weekend and she is knitting me a sweater!
This is great! I love to wear snugly clothes. Mom thinks they help me feel secure too kind of like a Thundershirt does for some pups.
You can see me modeling my sweater. I love it.

Good Boy!

Last evening, Sister got home. It was dark, cold and windy. Pop went out to help her get the garage cats tucked in.
Pop didn't make sure the yard gate latched.
Tux and I went outside when Pop went out. We noticed the open gate. It was wide open too. The wind had blown it open.
I heard Mom calling to me. I was standing there looking at the wide open space where the gate was wide open. I wasn't acting like I was planning on leaving the yard.
When I heard Mom calling I went in. Tux was already waiting at the door so he was in when I got in.

Mom gave us great big cookies and told us we were Good Boys for not leaving even though we sure could have.

Mom is mad at me

Oops. Mom saw me. Outside. While she was scooping poop, I was eating some of it.
She rushed over to where I was. She managed to get some of it scooped. I had eaten a piece. It was frozen and didn't just slide down the gullet. I had to really chew it so it took longer.

After hollering at me that I was a bad dog I don't think she is speaking to me now.
I imagine I won't be getting any kisses from Mom for awhile.
