Arrival Story:
Dharma was found running the street at about 2 years old with her brother, he was adopted but she was not, she was taken in by a rescue and that is how we got her. She is a different body type than Zen, a more desirable body type for Koreans since it has been a couple of times that we would be in a pet store and people would point, bow and say JINDO, JINDO. When a call came in for a picture of a Jindo for DogWorld Magazine, my friend Sherri Regabuto called in and took this most amazing picture of Dharma which was in the July issue of dogworld magazine, not bad for a throw away! She is my girl :)

Bio:
Korean Jindos are greatly misunderstood and misclasified by shelters since they are not ver well known with exceptions to west and east coasts. Korean Jindos area highly respected in Korea, where there is a yearlt festival to go visit Jindo Island, the best looking Jindos even have their own social secuirity to preserve the breed.

My Tail of Devotion for Dharma

Because Dharma had been on the street for a couple of years, she was already a pretty tough customer. She would get in vicious fights with poor little Zen who never learned how to fight like a Jindo Ghae. There was a time when I questioned whether I could keep her, but that stopped the day my husband left me this year. Since then Dharma has turned into a loving and devoted friend, far different than my relationship with Zen. She is always trying to make me laugh, even when she makes me mad. I had a sudden relapse of my Multiple Sclerosis and I was taken to the hopsital, all I kept thinking was MY DOGS, MY DOGS, I had no one to take care for them on such short notice and they are well.. particular.

Three days where spent where Dharma and Zen spent most of their time together, which use to be no no, because of the fighting. When I returnedd from the hospital, I was greeted by the calmest, sweetest and happiest dogs. Eeven though taht is not what the last minute caretakers said they looked like. I knew then that they both understood, I did not abandon them,I had no control and they behaved wonderfully. Especially Dharma, who has aged gracefuly right enfront of my eyes and has become a sweet special friend. She has taken to sleeping on the bed with Zen and I, something she would have never dreamed of before since she was so possessive, but now she shares, she understands.

The rought and tough Dharma, has grown into a beautiful older dog, who is majestic and loving, a wonderful caretaker of the home and an over all magnificent girl!
