Arrival Story:
He was a stray at a horse ranch where my daughter rides...people began feeding, ranch owners said if he was staying he needed to be neutered and have shots. I agreed to let him come to my house while healing from surgery. They emailed me the next day and said "we don't want him back". His name is Harry Potter (my daughter was obsessed with HP), middle name Charles because the lady who found him and first fed him called him Charlie.

Bio:
We are unsure of breed - but a dog trainer's first idea was Golden Retriever. He does have webbed feet, but viewing photos on this site, I found an Akita/Golden mix who looks very much like Harry. Update 6/02/09...Harry and I went to obedience training for 16 weeks and then passed his Canine Good Citizen test and is a therapy dog with the local SPCA at a nursing home and goes to the local high school special education classrooms. Everyone loves him. We think he's a Labrador Retriever/Husky mix. He is about five years old now and the love of our lives. He alerted me in the middle of the night a short time ago because "his" cat, Maestro (he chased him sometimes, but his cat to protect) was crying and I wouldn't wake up. Harry pestered me until I got up to help....Maestro had to go to Heaven. Harry grieved with us.
