He checked around the neighborhood to see if he could find Jake's mom or liter mates. Neighbors told him that the pup was a stray and there were no other puppies around. My friend new I my best friend for 15 years (JoJo, a poodle mix) had died in the past month so he called me and asked if I could open my heart to this puppy he found. I agreed. Jake was barely 5 pounds, flea and tic infested and appeared to have a broken tail. But to me Jake was the most adorable pup I had seen in a long time. As a puppy Jake looked more like a German Shepherd than a Golden Retriever. As he grew his coat changed and so did his colors. Bio: I could not save Jake's tail so at about four months of age Jake had his tail removed. It was broken at the tail bone so he could not even have a little nub. He does not seem to mind not having a tail and looks very natural without it. I've Been On Dogster Since:
