Arrival Story:
Buzzie is one of "The Three A'Beagos"... He was an 11th hour rescue from a rural shelter in the northern neck of VA. A potential adopter had arranged to "meet" Buzzie at the pound and never showed up, so he was on his last day. I'd been working with the Westmoreland County shelter for years and was trying to find Buzzie a home, so I was already very interested in him. When the woman didn't show up, that was it-- I drove 3 hours one way to pick up the little guy and never regretted a minute of the time. Buzzie's a wonderful dog! A friend of mine suggested Buzzie for his name even before meeting him, and it fits perfectly.

Bio:
Hi world, I'm Buzzie! My Gotcha Story almost wasn't... Here I was on my last hours at the shelter, and along came a lady looking at all of the dogs. She looked at me too, but so many people did and kept walking. Who would want a boy like me, all dirty and stinky, hiding in the back of my cage? Plus, wouldn't you know it-- right next to me was the cutest blue eyed Lab mix puppy! And of course, the lady stopped at the puppy's pen, gave him treats and played with him. I sat down in my cage with my back turned, sighing my depressed Beagle *sigh*. Then, I heard the most amazing thing-- the lady told the dog control officer how cute the Lab puppy was, but that she had come for me. ME!!! I couldn't believe it when my cage door opened and the officer brought me out-- I was so excited, I peed right on the chair leg in his office! After a very long car ride, we arrived at the place I call home now. My Beagle Momma let me out in the backyard, and my sister Molly came running up to greet me. (After I learned who was boss, we got along just fine.) That was 4 years ago. Since then, I've learned that people can be good, I like to meet kids, I can open presents and celebrate holidays, and I have as many toys as I want. I heard one of Momma's friends tell her our house was "Beagle Heaven," and I believe it is-- Momma was my rescue Angel.
