Anythign his teeth can close on, but espically cheese puffs and vienna sausages.
Favorite Walk:
Just around the neighborhood. Anywhere else he is a scared shaking little boy, but aournd the neighborhood he thinks he's king.
Best Tricks:
He can open the back door on his own and go out into the yard whenever he wants. This is not always a good thing.
Arrival Story:
In December of 2003, when I arrived at work, there was a smallish red dog in the parking lot. We (my husband and I) took him in. We fixed his flea and tick problem, fattened him up, got him all of his vaccinations. We tried to find his owner, to no luck, then tried to adopt him out. Also no luck. We said we would foster him until such a time as we could find him a new home.
Eventually my husband fell deeply in love and our home became his forever home.
Bio:
He WAS owned before us and not a born street dog. We're SURE of that because he was fully housebroken when we got him.
Rusty, once a terrifyed pup of strangers, is still scared of strangers outside of his territory unless me or my husband is with him, but if a stranger is ON his territory he is protective. Not openly aggressive, but apparantly protective.
