Arrival Story: My brother had had his mini doxie for a few years and we were looking for a companion. I had looked at several dogs whose ads were posted in the paper that didn't work out. I had given up on my search until one day there was an ad in the paper for a miniature dachsund and the seller was just a few minutes from my house. Although she was a pure-bred, she was selling for a lower price since she was three months old already and was a bit of a runt in her litter. The owners, who still had her mom and dad, had intended to keep her for themselves, but Dixie mothers had started to become aggressive toward her so they decided she needed her own home.
When I drove up to the house, she ran to the window with her tail wagging. When I went inside, Dixie ran over to me and jumped in my lap. She was so loving and affectionate. I knew she was the one for me!

Bio: Dixie has a "step-brother" named Mulder that is three years her senior and a heck of a lot bigger.

My new favorite hobby...
at night when my grandma turns on her heater, I curl next to it with my blankie, but when she's not looking, I push my blankie up against the heater until someone comes in and yells at me because they smell the burning smells. It's not my fault, the heater is possessed. There's an evil menace living in there. Sometimes I bark at it even when it's not on. I know something is in there and I'm determined to kill it!

On the fourth of July, my mom and my uncle took me and my buddy Mulder to Scraps dog bakery. We each got to pick out a cookie. I got one that looked like an ice cream cone and Mulder got one that looked like a Moose. It was hot and we had walked a long way so the bakery workers offered us a drink of water out of their bowl outside on the front deck. On the side of the deck there was a wooden dog modeling a doggie life jacket. I thought the dog was real so I tried to sniff it's butt to say hello, but it wasn't a real dog and it fell right over the side of the deck. I felt really silly and Mom laughed at me all the way home. Oh well, at least I got a cookie out of it.
