Arrival Story:
Zoe was found as a stray on the streets of Louiasiana...she was brought to the local shelter by animal control...she was very tiny and thin and so full of love and life..She was adopted by a family who fell in love with her, but she got sick the night they adopted her and the next day was diagnosed with Parvo..her new family could not afford to treat her and she was returned to the shelter..the manager knew me as I rescue and rehome small dogs and she called me to see if I could take her..I went and got her and met my vet at his clinic that evening as Parvo is very contageous and must be treated by a vet..we got her on an IV with meds for the Parvo..Parvo can be deadly and even with treatment a dog can still die, but not Zoe..she beat it and came home three days later..

Bio:
After I got Zoe home she became quite ill..she choked on everything she ate, and vomited everything..I took her back to my vet and xrays showed nothing..she had to stay to see if he could figure out what was wrong..she was back on an IV getting her nutrition that way..everytime we tried to feed her something she choked and threw up. She was put on several medications and a liquid diet..poor little girl was always hungry...we tried her on food again and she threw up..we xrayed her throat to find what looked like a mass..I was terrified, but it turned out to be blocked food..which we removed. We also did exploratory surgery to check her stomach and intestines, and found more blockages..it was determined she would stay on several medications and liquified food for life.. About a month later she got a piece of hard food from one of my other dogs..I paniced but she didn't choke..she chewed and swolled it with no trouble..I slowly began to feed her a little at a time and she had no trouble..I gradually took her off medication and she was still alright..Today she eats everything and is doing great..and what a little dollbaby she is.
