Arrival Story:
My oldest son had been wanting a dog as his dog Domino was too big for his apartment in Los Angeles. We were talking about how "when the right dog comes along we will know it", when we happened to stop at a little Latino swapmeet in the north end of the San Fernando Valley. In the back corner was a pet shop and in one of the little cages was Lola and her 2 brothers (both fawn colored Chi's). I have always loved black dogs and was immediately drawn to her. But I was specific in wanting a female dog. The guy there called her "Negrita", and told me "oh she is girl". Haha, just what I wanted. She jumped in my arms and clung tight to me, snuggled up into my chin and I just melted. My son kept saying "do you like her"? "do you want her"? All I could do was say YES YES YES. He bought her right here for me as a Mother's Day present.

Bio:
Lola had 2 brothers who where fawn colored. We don't know anything about her parents, but did go to the vet that the pet shop worked with who assured us that her parents were "cute and healthy".

Dog's Life

Its cold

Being little has its advantages, however staying warm in the winter is not one of them. It is cold here in SoCal and when the family goes out for the day I have to stay in my cold cage instead of snuggling under the blankets on the couch. Mom leaves me with lots of blankets to snuggle with in the cage, but I am still cold and lonely without my family.

I am looking forward to seeing if Santa will bring me a coat for Christmas.

Back to Hollywood for me

Just arrived back in the 'hood. Hollywood that is. Its hot here, which I love being a chihuahua and all. Ran around at the park earlier today and managed to get out of my harness. My called me Houdini for the rest of the morning. I will never tell her how I did it. LOL

Can't wait until it starts to get colder out so I can wear some really cute new outfits that mom got for me. I have a scarf right now but all its good for is chewing.

As soon as mom settles back into college and a routine again, I think she will have more time for my dogster web page. Until then...{{{BARK}}}

Shots!!

Last week I had my last set of shots. Yeah!! Well then mom told me that I had to go back in a year for more. I can handle that. The ladies at the pet store thought I had cute "tiger stripes" on my nose, and even the vet was nice, until she put that huge cold metal thing in my butt. My eyes bugged straight out of my head and I looked at mom like "What the hell is that???". Mom gave me a few hugs and "Good Girls" and I settled down.

Then they stuck me with a few needles. I took it like a big girl though, it wasn't so bad. Mom bought me a cute new collar that is pink with little diamonds on it and I got lots of hugs afterwards.

Mom and the gang dropped me off at home and they went out to eat. I was excited because I usually get some cool leftovers, like steak or pork.

I went in and layed on my bed for a while and then my face started to swell up and itch. Not fun let me tell you. I was starting to get scared when Mom and the kids came home. Mom freaked out when she saw me and whisked me out to the car and back to that vet again. Now the vet is nice and all, but what did she do to me??

By the time I got to the vet my whole head was swollen and I looked like a freak. Nice vet gave me a few more shots and strung me up to some bag of liquid, Mom and the kids were watching me thru the window and they looked sad.

After a few hours and a few hundred bucks later, I was good to go. All they have to do now is shove a pill down my throat every day. ICK
