Arrival Story:
My mother and I adopted Maggie in 1996, when she was six months old. She was a stray. When my mother and I went to the shelter, Maggie kept looking under the kennel door. We realized her ball had rolled out and she wanted it back to play. She was so precious we knew she was the one. She lived with us both until 2000, and then I moved out. When I moved into my permanent home in Sept. 2003, my mother thought I was going to take Maggie with me. However, a very strong bond had developed between them. I knew Maggie needed to stay where she was. A little more than a year later, my mother moved to a residential care center due to health reasons, and Maggie came to live with me, my husband, and Tanner. Now, whenever my mother comes to our home for the holidays, Maggie assumes her devoted position sitting next to my mother. She is a great dog!
