Arrival Story:
I went to a Pet Adoption day to meet up with our Petsitter, and take 'Baby Buck" for a stroll that day, when I came across this lady and her boyfriend who had this little girl who they named "Monkee" at their table advertising for their new "self service Pet grooming shop". They were looking for a home for her, as her business partner's son had found her a month or so prior, but the "husband" said 4 dogs was enough they needed to find a home for her. Well, "Baby Buck" didn't seem to mind her as we sat there for over an hour discussing rescue animals, and Pet Adoption, and "Monkee" could have cared less that Buck was "Hogging" her shade. Well, I took this picture of her, and sent it to my husband as he was on the road, as I thought that it had been 4 months since we had to let Juno go, and that she reminded me of Juno and I thought that if she got along with our gang that she could be a part of the family. We brought all the dogs down to meet eachother and all of them got along fine so we asked if we could take "Monkee" home for an overnight to see how they all got along in their own space. Well the rest is history, "Monkee" helped ease the pain of the loss of Juno, and brought a smile to my husband's face and she is such a cuddle muffin and "Daddy's baby girl"....... We changed her name to "Piglet" because she's got a lot of pink around her face, and those big pointy ears, and of course, she SNORTS all the time when she's playing with her toy ball, and tug rope.

Piglet "aka Monkee" was left out in the desert in a cardboard box. The man that found her, thought originally she was a rabbit, as he drove by. He thought better of it, and decided to turn around and check out the situation. "Piglet" had been left in a cardboard box out beneath a High Tension Power line with NO food and water, and high temperatures. He was able to catch her after a little while and bring her to a vet who advised him that had she stayed out there any longer she would have died. She was living off the sticks and vegatation in the area near the box, but was too afraid to leave the box. We assume that she was waiting for who ever dumped her there to die to come back and get her. She had a ring around her neck like she had lived on a chain, which that mark too almost two months to wash away from her fur according the family that found her. After we adopted her we brought her to our vet for Heartworm testing to begin her monthly treatment. She tested Positive for Tick Fever, which untreated she could have died from as it attacks the blood system. She underwent 8 weeks of antibotics and has now tested negative, and will be spayed on August 15th 06 throught the Maricopa Pit Bull/Mix spay and neutur program which pays us $20.00 to have her spayed. Besides the Tick Fever she has a ligament problem with her left Knee (sorry don't know the correct medical term) It pops out of join, but then will go back in, and causes her to limp a little bit and favor that leg. She will have her knee repaired in a few months, as our vet recommends not having the spaying and knee surgery too close together for fear of side effects from surgery.

Well, it would seem that Mom and Dad moved all of us from Phoenix, AZ (postage size yard) to a Louisville, TN back in 08/07 (where there was NO mention of BSL across the WHOLE state of Tenn.

Mom and Dad are so upset and worried that they made a move to give us dogs a better life of 1.43 acres of fenced yard, and TONS of space for us to get TONS of exercise and enjoy some room to run. We are not left outside on chains all day, we have a lovely pet sitter who comes in daily to give us a break , run and a treat while Mom and Dad are at work!

This is so unfair to BLAME us, for the actions of ANOTHER irresponsible dog owner.

We have done nothing wrong, and we have faith in our parents, that if FORCED to we'll make the trip back to Phoenix, and HOPEFULLY be able to sell the TENN house, with out causing MORE financial hardship.

Can you imagine that OUR parents will be charged with a CLASS A Misdemeanor, WHICH is a HIGHER offense than attending a DOG FIGHT! (What is wrong with this picture!)

If you are in support of us, please send our mom and email at hhaywardthomas @yahoo.com (remove space) and she can forward you all the STATE representative's email addy's, phone numbers, and fax numbers.

We appreciate your support, because THIS COULD BE you in the future!!!!

If it happens in ACROSS the WHOLE STATE of TENN it is only a matter of time before another STATE tries the same thing!!!!

Well, Senator Kilby got a signature on his SB3827

Please right below and VOICE your opinion, advise them that even if you are not a VOTER of TENN that you will withdraw your tourism dollars!

Tennessee Senate Bill 3827 which would make ownership of a "pit bull" in Tennessee a Class A Misdemeanor now has a companion House sponsor.

House Representative Janis Sontany filed HB3984 today. It has not yet been sent to a House Committee. Once the bill is assigned to a committee, we'll send out the contact information for the individual committee members. In the meantime, Representative Sontany's contact information is below.

I've been tagged...by my Pup Pal MooMoo!

Each player starts with 7 facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to send them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My 7 facts:

1. I was found out in the desert in the Fountain Hills, AZ area.

2. I love to take my ball and do the Pit Bull Head Shaking show off prance! 
3. I love my sister, and all 4 of my big brothers.

4. I graduated from being in the crate. Now I get to stay out with Harley and Baby Buck.
5. I love to hog the king size bed that we all get to sleep in with Mom and Dad. Even when Dad’s on the road I manage to hog the whole bed! (I’m such a stinker!)

Boy, is it ruff staying still and being a good girl! :)

Today is one week from the day that I had both my knees operated on. My mom was able to pick me up on Friday night, and she learned how to take care of me for the next six weeks.

It is going to be a long slow road to recovery because I have to be still. Do you realize how hard it is to stay still, when you see your brothers playing or you want to get up on the nice comfy couch, but you have to stay on the floor, or in your crate.

I know that my parents made the best choice possible for me to ensure that I make a full recovery, and do not suffer any arthritis as I get older.

I'm trying to remain quiet and still, but that's not easy to do! Mom has been taking the sleep sofa mattress off the couch and sleeping on the floor with me.

I'm so spoiled! :)

I've been taking my meds like a good little girl, and I've been really good about letting everyone know when I have to go potty, so they can help me outside.

Well, it is time to take a nap again, so I'll bark at you later, and keep you updated on my recovery!

Woof Woof
