Quick Bio:

Likes:
Being wrapped in a cozy blanket, back massages, being fussed over, older women, barking, chasing squirrels, car rides.

Pet-Peeves:
Other dogs -- especially big ones, being ignored, getting her nails clipped, "Raspberry Kisses" on her belly, getting her paws dirty, hard dog treats.

Favorite Toy:
She has never shown an interest in toys, believes "Fetch" is a waste of her time and, quite frankly, beneath her! At 14, her favorite things are a soft fleecey blanket, and a comfortable neck roll pillow!

Favorite Food:
Cherby's Fish Treats, Chicken, Meatballs, Ice-cream, Peanut Butter, Bread Sticks, Chips.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere she may encounter another dog owner who will pet HER in front of THEIR dog. ("HA HA!") She also likes to pause in front of gated dogs who will then bark at her and get in trouble. (Again, "HA HA!")

Best Tricks:
"Non-Begging:" -- Planting herself across the room to sulk and look pathetic until someone notices and fusses over her. Extra points if they give her a treat!

Arrival Story:
We went to the breeder's home to select a puppy, and saw this little fluff-ball completely intimidating their black lab! She was feisty and playful and we knew immediately she was the one.

Bio:
In March '05, Kira was attacked in our yard by a Pit Bull. The attack resulted in the entire right side of her chest being crushed and her lung collapsing. Although we were told she would not live through the night, Kira had other plans -- the Rainbow Bridge would have to wait... She fought hard to stay with us and we are thrilled at her complete recovery (the staff at the veterinary hospital dubbed her "The Miracle Dog")! To us, she is living testimony to the power of prayer. (She STILL tells off the big dogs!) UPDATE: On 10/9/09 we said a sad farewell to our beloved Kira as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss her everyday, and be thankful everyday for the gift of her companionship for over 15 years. Rest in peace and joy, little Kira, until we see you again.
