Arrival Story:
Tanner was at our local shelter, because his family was moving. Tanner had lost weight and appeared depressed about his circumstances. Despite this, he wanted to play with a toy steak, the first time my husband and I saw him. I encouraged my husband one weekend to go back and see him again. He returned to say that someone had been approved to adopt him, the shelter was just waiting to contact them. What he didn't tell me was that he had filled out an application anyways. The next Tuesday we went out in the afternoon, and I wondered why he seemed so anxious to be home. He knew the shelter might call. They didn't call, so you can imagine his disappointment. The next evening he had me play a message on the answering machine. It was truly surprising for me, but one of the best messages for the both of us, Tanner could come home with us! Tanner has been a part of our family for more than 2 years now. He is a great dog!
