   Leave a bone for Bimmer

Quick Bio:
-part feral-dog rescue

Anything that involves Charlie, the jeep and cows

Shiva and Kharma (our two Filas) stealing his food when they have their own

Favorite Toy:
Shiva and Kharma

Favorite Food:
beef, anything he's caught, especially groundhogs and rabbits

Favorite Walk:
running with the jeep in the pasture

Best Tricks:
He loves to be up high. In the fall when we have the hay stacked, he jumps to the top of the stack - about 18', and jumps from stack to stack, sometimes 8' - 10' apart. He's also been known to walk on the ceiling beams inside the barn.

Arrival Story:
Someone threw Bimmer and his three siblings out at a small farm. One of my clients knew I had lost my beloved German Shepherd/Akita after many years and needed another GSD, so when he saw the note posted at the farmers' co-op, he called me and gave me the number. The woman had just given Bimmer away, but we talked for about half an hour. Three weeks later she called me, having looked my number up on her phone bill, to tell me that he had wandered back to her farm from the home he had gone to over two miles away. I went and picked him up that night. She told me later that she felt kind of sad when we left, since he had curled right up next to me in the car and hadn't shown any regret at leaving her. It was the first time a dog had ever left her without crying! Evidently Bimmer and I were meant for each other.

Bimmer's physically our smallest dog (both girls will be at least 2 1/2 times his size) but he's The Boss. He keeps the girls in line. He's totally responsible and utterly devoted. He's taught both of the girls to sit down and behave when I say "where are your manners," something he's always done on his own with no training at all. I've never had to spend any time training him, he just does what I ask. He not only cleans himself off in the wading pool before he comes inside if he's gotten dirty, he's made certain both girls learned to do the same! He's also a great drover, and is so gentle with the new calves that the cows don't even mind when he walks right up to their calves and gives them a "welcome" lick on the face. He's just a wonderful companion and I feel honored every day just to know that he loves me. June 27, 2015 . . . Bimmer passed over, choosing his own time, quietly, peacefully, with Kharma watching over him, me sitting on the floor with him, watching and whispering to him as he crossed over that it was okay, that I love him, Kharma loves him, but we understand, as the voice of his first Fila-love, Buffy, became the one he heard most strongly and he slipped away to join her. As Kharma and I were sleeping later, we heard him. Stryker didn't hear him, only Kharma and I. We both woke up at the same time, knowing that voice, one of his distinctive wolf-barks. He was happy. We both heard Buffy, too. There will never be another like him
