My dog, Bogart, had recently passed away, and I wanted a new border collie mix puppy from the same pound I adopted Bo from. I walked in, and he was literally the first puppy I saw, and he looked so frightened, I had to have him.
Ace was very sick at first; the vet thought he had kennel cough, but it turns out it was distemper. A few weeks went by, and in June of this year, he started showing signs of neurological damage. The damage progressed quickly, so I made the heartbreaking decision to have him put to sleep. It was one of the hardest things I've done, but he just seemed so miserable that I thought it was the best for him. I know he is keeping Bo good company at the Rainbow Bridge.
