Likes: EATING, going for rides in the car, walks, pretending I'm a tiny lap dog, playing with my buddy Hank, and most of all...love a good butt scratching.
Pet-Peeves: Don't bump or nudge me when I'm asleep because I'll let you know that I don't like it with a friendly grrrrowl. I hate, hate, hate getting my nails cut. I'm scared of storms and the vacum; loud noises are scary.
Favorite Toy: I enjoy chewing on my Nylabone every now and then. Now that I'm getting older I don't play so much. I do enjoy a good romp with my buddy Hank on a daily basis.
Favorite Food: I will eat anything you give me, but mom doesn't like that cause she tries to keep me healthy and I have allergy issues. I eat some insanely expensive grain-free diet, it tastes like fish!
Favorite Walk: I love to walk anywhere. Most often it's just a jog or stroll through the neighborhood.
Best Tricks: I'm not much of a trickster. I can sit, lay down, and shake. If Hank lays a toy down I'm the first to swoop in and grab it up. I like to stalk bugs and kill them, sometimes I eat them but I usually let Hank do that part.
Arrival Story: I came from the Lexington, KY Humane Society. Some college boys adopted me, think I was about 8 months old at the time. By the time I was about 3 they just weren't so interested anymore. So this animal loving girl that was a cousin of one of my owners would come by and take me to the park for walks. I loved it! She started hanging out with me more and more. Sometimes I even spent the night with her. Eventually I guess the boys decided I would be better off with her so they let her have me! I am now spoiled rotten. My mom loves me so much. I came along when she was going through a rough time and I know I often made her frown turn upside down. Also because of her I went on my first of many vet visits...not so much fun, but I'm glad someone is finally taking care of me.
Bio: It's important to know that I am very appreciative of the love my mom gives me and because of that I am very loyal and protective of her. I have a "she's mine" attitude. I want my mom all to myself although in the past year I have learned to share her a little with Hank. I have some dog friends but sometimes it takes me some time to get comfortable with new dogs especially if they come to MY house. I haven't quite figured out small children either...

I've Been On Dogster Since:
So I haven't said much in the past year. I just wanted to update that since this time last year, I have had a second ACL surgery! Yes people, another surgery! Apparently once you tear one it's much easier for the other leg to tear as well. I'm all healed up though, that was months ago. It gets better... My buddy Hank, the big black lab that I live with, he's also now had one ACL surgery! Think playing out in the big snow we had in March messed him up. He's looking kind of gimpy now though so he has to go back to visit the doctor. Everything else is going ok. I also learned that I like eating cat poop. If someone forgets to shut the door to the laundry room I can swoop in and get into the litter box. Why does everyone think this is so gross?
My mom and I just moved into a new house! We are now living with her boyfriend and my buddy Hank. We like to run and play in our new, big backyard. He's a big crazy black lab, but I think he helps to keep me young. I had to leave my little jack russell buddy, Jackie, but I'll still get to visit her. Actually, Hank and I stayed over there last Sunday when our parents spent the day at a Nascar race. All is good now! Except there is a cat at the new house and she really intrigues me...
On Tuesday my mom took me to the vet's office and left me! She's never done that before. My back right leg has been bothering me for awhile now and today was the day to finally do something about it. ACL surgery! I had a torn ligament, arthritis, and come to find out, a loose piece of cartilage. The vet is the greatest man in the world and he fixed me up real nice. I had to spend the night, but I had some good drugs to get me through (I'm sure mom was at home more stressed than I was). My mom left work early Wednesday to come pick me up. I was so excited I was falling all over that slippery floor! She sat in the back seat with me on the way home, and even though I had a stupid e-collar on my head, I could still look out the window! I am now at home confined by a baby gate to the downstairs bathroom. My mom takes the cone off my head when she's home, but when she's away I have to leave it on. I cry a lot about that. Last night, my first night home, my mom slept on the couch downstairs so she could keep tabs on me. She has to carry me up and down the deck stairs just so I can go out to the bathroom, and I will admit I'm a bit heavier than I should be. Hopefully in a few months my leg with be perfect. Walking on three legs isn't so bad though, but my mom has to put a leash on me so I heal well and don't injure myself. We both have quite a road ahead of us!
