 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: September 4th 2000
Likes: Ear scritches, chasing tennis balls, running laps in the backyard, digging huge holes when mommy isn't looking, sun-bathing & eating!

Pet-Peeves: Getting his nails clipped, going to the vet, the vacuum cleaner and getting mud cleaned off his feet

Favorite Toy: Tennis balls (he goes NUTS for them)

Favorite Food: Pizza bones (crusts), beets, chicken & jerky-treats

Favorite Walk: Nature-walks on my parents' property where he experiences all kinds of wildlife from birds to deer to chipmunks!

Best Tricks: He sings! And... he knows all the basic obedience commands (and we were told greyhounds couldn't be trained!)

Arrival Story: We wanted a second greyhound after adopting our girl, partly to keep her company while we were at work, but mostly because we just love dogs and we are in love with greyhounds. We visited a couple of local greyhound rescue kennels, and during one visit we were told about a boy who was "returned" to the adoption group. The story was that his first adoptive father was deployed to Iraq and his adoptive mother had to go into the hospital for surgery - she dropped him off at the kennel and six months later, she still hadn't come back for him (after about a dozen unreturned phonecalls from the rescue group). The rescue group had just released him to be adopted again two days before our visit (it was fate). We decided to "foster" him in our home for a couple of weeks and we fell in love with him! The thought of returning him after our foster-period was over reduced me to a mound of tears, he had simply worked his way into our hearts. He has been "our boy" ever since!

Bio: Keota had a very successful racing career for almost five years (pretty old for a racer). He is a son of the famous ex-racer, "Fortress". He was very mistrustful of people when we first brought him home and it took many months before he would come to us for attention and love. I think once he realized he was in his forever-home, he just blossomed! He turned into a total goof who still makes us laugh on a daily basis. He loves to chase tennis balls (inside or outside) and then run away from us when go to take them back. Like his sister, he also likes chasing small critters in the backyard. He also enjoys hiding out under our deck where he can dig huge holes in private! Very fast learner, eager to please and such a silly boy! He doesn't seek attention all that often, but when he does... he's a heart-melter! I just cannot imagine my life without him.

My deepest, darkest secret...: My behind (*ahem*) was totally bald when my parents adopted me! I heard it might be because of being in a kennel for so many years when I was still racing, I just rubbed all the hair right off. All I know is I'm sure glad it grew back!
