Fall at the Beach

I had a great day out at the beach today. My mommy and poppy took me out to Coronado where we met up with a couple of other pups from my Dog Social group. Blitzer is a dark lab and Bella was a cute cocker spaniel puppy. We all three got wet. The best part of the day was trying to dig for smelly things with Bella, but the people around thought we were trying to dig to China. My mommy said that she was very proud of me because I didn't run into the Navel golf course this time. Last time it was somewhat embarrassing for my mommy. Today was a great day because I felt like a puppy again and now I'm headed to nap all evening and night long! =)

Bee Stings

My cousin Stanley was stung by a bee on Labor Day. He was only outside on his family's porch for about 2 minutes! That was enough time for him to get smitten then stumble back into the house and go into anaphylactic shock. He was then rushed into a 24 hour pet hospital, shaved for an I.V. into his paw, and then given lots of expensive tests. Poor Stanley!

My mommy explained to me that veterinarian work can be expense. I already had an HMO with my local veterinarian but I had nothing to cover me in case of an emergency room situation. My mommy became proactive and purchased me a VPI pet insurance plan. I have a low deductible and have the assurance of never having to be turned away for medical attention.

I don’t want to jinx myself, but let's just say that I don't plan on doing any risky activity that would cause me to have a life treating emergency. But I'm always prepared for what ever happens in the future! =)

New Human Friends 7.22.06

Today I met two of my mommy's friends, Melisa and Christy. They were two very sweet and pretty girls. I wish they knew how much I adored them. I would sit between the two of the girls on my mommy's futon, in the living room, and try to lick them with loving praise. I would jump up and get under their arm and cuddle really close, leaning toward them, and then snuggle into them. They told me that I was the sweetest dog they ever met! They also said that I was the softest beagle they ever pet, and I attribute that to my Nutro diet! =)

Melisa was so kind, during our first meeting, brought me a Tuffie squeaky toy. When she handed it to me, I showed her how much I enjoyed it by doing a Snoopy dance around the house while throwing the toy in the air. Melisa thought that was cute and she said, "Aw…" It made her happy that I was enjoying my present.

Someday my mommy and I are going to go visit Christy and her beagle Stanley in Los Angeles. Mommy says that Stanley is my one year old cousin and he is a pocket beagle and that is very rare. Once I have my first visit with Stanley I will have new pictures to post, so stay tuned.
