Arrival Story:
I drove several hours to get Count Machuki. And when I saw him, I fell in love. He fit in the palm of my hand and I loved him instantly. He was named after a Jamaican man from the 1950s that created the art of DJing. It was a big name for a very small dog. In the short time I had Chuki, he was the love of my life. He was smart and well behaved. Unfortunately, he had to be put to sleep because of a small perforation of his intenstine. The surgery to fix the problem would have been more detrimental to his health, as he was only about 2.5 lbs, than it was worth. The chances of survival were not likely even with the surgery and the puppy was suffering more and more every minute. I had no choice. It was the most heartbreaking thing I have ever been through. I miss him very much and think of him often.
