Arrival Story:
A friend/co-worker was going to get a bird dog. I have had WPG in the past and told him how good of a hunting dog they were. They are easy to train and are excellent family dogs. After several weeks of searching the internet he decided on a puppy in North Dakota. After some prodding from him I too decided to get another WPG. I got Gus from a breeder in central Wisconsin. Gus, like the other Griff's I've had, seems to be a natural in the field and a much loved family member.

Bio:
When I decided to get another WPG I had my heart set on a female. After contacting several breeders in the midwest no females were available. In fact some breeders had a waiting list for females. I finally found a breeder who had 1 male and 1 female puppy left. The only problem was that there was a lady coming the next day to look at them. If she took the male the female was mine if not I could have the male. She took the female. I had a decision to make...wait a year (or longer) to get a female or take the male now. I took the male and have not regretted a single moment. On April 8, 2006 I entered Gus in the Michigan Chapter, NAVHDA, Natural Ability Test. Gus received a Prize I with a perfect score of 112 points. At 10 month's of age Gus was the youngest dog in attendence. In the two day event only one other dog received a perfect score also a WPG. We are now preparing for the NAVHDA UPT and all is going well so far.
