Quick Bio:

Likes:
I enjoy rawhide, walks, and being chased.

Pet-Peeves:
Do not touch (or try to brush) my tail or poofy pantaloon fur (no pictures of that, thank goodness)! My owner does it anyway, but I hate that. I also hate the vacuum...it's loud and removes the hair I so delicately placed between every carpet fiber.

Favorite Toy:
My big ol' Nylabone, although I like my plethora of rawhide bones and retriever rolls as well.

Favorite Food:
Nutro Ultra Adult...and pretty much anything else including fruit, veggies, and parrot food thrown by my bird-brother, Gandalf the Grey Parrot.

Favorite Walk:
Central Park in Santa Clara.

Best Tricks:
'High Five' and 'Sit Pretty' are my best tricks. I know more! ...but I only do them when I want...

Arrival Story:
I was at a Shiba rescue in Modesto for quite awhile. Sheila (who runs the rescue) was a really nice lady and took care of me until I could find a forever home. I'm half Jindo, half Shiba and quite a handful. My owner was looking for months before she saw my picture and decided to meet me. It was a two-hour drive and the woman who ran the rescue let me walk with my new owner to the park to play. I was shy but she still fell in love. I had some mouthing and obedience issues (I just like to do what I want like most shibas), but almost a year later (and with training...my graduation picture is on my page, too) I'm adjusting well and loving life. Who would of thought I could come so far just since October 2005? What can I say? I'm an awesome dog.

Bio:
My name is Kitsune because I'm a foxy-looking boy with a (partially anyway) Japanese heritage. 'Kitsune' means 'fox' in Japanese...well I really look more like a dingo, but I'm clever like a fox (for better or worse) so I've earned my name. I don't have a lot of experience with other dogs, although I do get really excited when I meet one and just want to be chased and jump and run around. I want to make some dog friends so I can be what my owner calls 'socialized'. Whatever that is. I guess it has to do with playing calmly instead of being a hyper whirlwind when I'm around other dogs. My uncle Max is a big Lab mix and he's trying to teaching me dog manners when I visit so I can play with the friends I might meet closer to home.

I have a dedicated blog now. Although it won't really pick up until my humans get back to the states, it will be the place where you can find information on all of my adventures along with the newest pictures of me.

See you there!

A Much Needed Update

Sorry I haven't updated in so long. Things have been pretty crazy. Humans have to worry about this thing called the 'economy' and apparently it got sick and threw up on the carpet.

That's never good.

Along with life doing its thing, this has made for some serious changes in my pack life.

My human is currently very far away (her old job was apparently in that bad spot on the carpet) and so I'm staying with my friends until she gets back. Luckily that should be really soon!

She says that we're going to have an adventure...road trip, new den, even new pack members (she said something about a cat)! I'll tell you all about it when it happens.

Until then I'm staying in shape with lots of hiking. My friends love taking me out with my backpack. I also heard that I have a vet visit coming up (just a normal one) but I love my vet so that should be okay.

e-Bark to you again soon, dog pals!

Daily Diary Pick and Valentines Day!

Apparently Dogster picked my Fox Tails diary as a Daily Pick! That's so neat! I'm going to try to update my diary even more so I can keep in the running.

Happy Valentines Day, everyone! Remember to tell all of the animals in your life (even the less-adorable human ones) how much they mean to you. Rescue dogs like me really appreciate all the love we've been given.

Licks and Nose Kisses for All,
~Kitsune
