Bio:
Akira first lived in Ohio, and then moved to Maryland to be with two of his four humans in his family. The first night was a little scary, but after that, he loved it, especially going on walks on the Nature Trail and walking to the community center where there was a pond with ducks and geese. He also met a neighbor female shiba inu, Sable, who he loved to play with. Unfortunately, Akira was found to be a little to big to live in the apartment according to the land lords, altho Akira thought it was just the right size, with lots of floor pillows and cushions to lounge on, and someone home almost all the time to play with! But he had to move back to Ohio. He has come back to Maryland for a visit, but thank goodness one of his humans in Maryland is moving back in in Ohio, and the other is moving nearby to Pennsylvania, so he can see her on the weekends at least! Everyone wants to be with Akira, because they all love him! Update 8/31/06- today we found out Akira has chronic pancreatic disease :(. Hopefully with diet and medicine he will be feeling better soon! Update 10/06- Akira and Shiro also now have a blog: http://akira-shiro.blogspot.com/

Santa Paws

I saw Santa Paws! He wasn't really as interesting as the other dogs and assorted small furry animals around the PetsMart, but he was a nice, jolly old fellow. I even got to get some desserts from the store as a treat for being such a good boy for Santa. I also remembered to tell him my whole Christmas wish list. I hope he remembers! I am sure I am on the "nice" list, though Shiro may have ended up on the "naughty" list. I did try to put in a good word for him though, really!

Those cats are taking over the neighborhood!

Cats. They are EVERYWHERE in this neighborhood! They don't even leave anything for me to hunt, they get it all! I saw this cat carrying a rabbit half it's size the other day! Yesterday this black and white spotted cat had the nerve to FOLLOW me on my walk! I guess he hadn't heard that curiosity killed the cat. Oh well, I ignored him after Sissy told me to "leave it." But they sure are everywhere. Some of them run and make me want to chase them! Some of them put their bellies low on the ground, some of them hiss and try to stare me down. This one is a little scary, I have to admit, cause he has NO FEAR at all! Doesn't he realize I am a big dog, a fearless hunter (well except for bees and other bugs and insects, I have NO FEAR!)? I had to walk all the way to another neighborhood just to see a squirrel, those cats have such a monopoly on the small woodland creatures! What nerve!
