She loves to wrestle with her sister Snow, and hang out under the desks in the office.
Rain, thunder, wind, any loud noises, and other animals in her yard!!
Ropes, bugs, plush toys to destuff, Snow White (sister), Sassy(cousin), anything chewable!!
Piggy ears, steak and beacon!! ;-)
Loves the dog park where she can really stretch her lets and run, and most recently visited a doggy beach, and loved to play in the waves with mom!!
Slowly expanding her array of tricks.. she now knows sit, lay, come, and shake
After losing our other baby (Kodi-wan) and many months of searching to no avail... we started looking for a new addition for our family that could keep up with our Eskie, Snow. I found a rescue site through either petfinders.com or ARNET.com called www.cuddlycanines.com, and there was a litter of unknowns that were abandoned at the Long Beach Shelter at only 2 weeks old in the middle of winter. In her litter there was 4, 2 boys, 2 girls. I emailed the lady that was was rasing and fostering her litter, and asked about their temperments, and size, and all that, and she said her vet thought they might be Keeshond mixed with something smaller. I asked which was the most outgoing, and she said the one with the "Don King" hair cut. On Valentines day we drove out to La Habra Heights and checked them out, Sascha was the biggest in her litter. Twice the size of the rest!! I was hoping to find another pup that would be about the 20-25lb range Snow is in, but my husband wanted a BIG dog. So although I was starting to lean more toward her smaller sister, who unfortunately was more timid, he insisted on getting the larger female! Well here we are now and she seems to have stopped around the 42lb mark!! I am glad we got her, she is wonderful. She is my gentle giant (I know comparitively she is medium, but to us she is huge) . She is a bundle of love and affection with her big floppy paws. She is a great dog, a few bad habits, but technically she is still a puppy.
Everyone that meets her falls in love with her, and she just loves everyone.
It appears the first vet's original guess that she was a mix of Keeshond was incorrect. As she has grown it appears now that she is a mix of the following:
Huskey is definately in there, she is gorgous.
German Shepard - you can see it in her hips
Chow Chow - tounge is spotted and her color indicates it is probably Chow.
Hence her newly aquired nickname: Shepowsky (Shepard,Chow, Husky)
It's been wonderful watching her grow and bloom into the dog she has become.
