Da Beach!

Hiya Pups, managed to catch my elusive mom between trips and charmed her into uploading some pics and writing a diary entry for me.

Hmmm...not a lot of excitement to report. We did take a three day trip to the Delaware Seashore this April and had a blast (pics posted in my photo album)! Each day we went out to the Delaware State Park and I got to run for miles and miles and play in the surf. There was no one else around so we totally owned all of that glorious space! We had some pretty chilly weather but that didn't stop us, no sireeee!

We're gearing up to go again this weekend. This time it will be a five day trip. Woohoo! I can't wait.

Stay tuned for more beach pics upon our return!

A Cat's Diary

Day 183 of my captivity.

My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal.
The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.
Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded. Maybe I should try this at the top of the stairs.
In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. I must try this on their bed.

Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little kitty cat I was. This is not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing something called "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches.

The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return.
He is obviously a half-wit.

The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He speaks with them regularly, and I am certain he reports my every move. Due
to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.
But I can wait.

It's only a matter of time.

Birthday Excitement and Photos with Santa Paws

Well, my birthday is fast approaching- it is exactly one week from today and I am getting so excited! I've never had a birthday before and don't really know what to expect. Mom said something about giving me 'presents' and 'treats' ! These are good words so I am pretty sure that I will like them. She also mentioned that she might get me a 'birthday hat'. I don't know what this hat is, I may or may not like it. I hope it turns out to be a new kind of treat...

I am going to spend the day at doggie daycare with my pals--my birthday is on a Friday so mom has to work but at least I'll be entertained all day. I LOVE doggie daycare, it's the best!

Mom needs to look into getting my portraits done again. She thinks she may have missed the xmas portraits at the doggie daycare since the photographer was only going to be there one day...if that's the case, we may have to visit Santa Paws at PetSmart...mom says she hopes it won't be too crowded but I say bring on the crowds! More people to smile at and more doggie butts to sniff as we stand in line to have our pics taken!

Play Date

*Pant pant* just got home from a pawsome play date! The weather was really beautiful this morning and mom and I headed over to her friend Tracey's house. Tracey and mom sat outside talking while I engaged in some rough and tumble fun with the other lady of the house, Samantha (Sammie), a big beautiful Great Pyrenees/Yellow Lab mix. Sammie has a nice big fenced-in backyard so we raced each other, played tag and tussled on the ground to our hearts content. We got so tired we couldn't even stand anymore and just flopped down for a break every once in a while (see pics in photo album). It was great fun and great exercise! Hopefully I'll get to visit them again real soon!

The only downside to the play date was that I had to have a bath when I got home because I got so muddy from rolling around on the ground. I was preparing to sulk after my bath to show mom what I thought of her for torturing me like that...but mom pulled out a new toy for me....a stuffed soccer ball! It is soooooo cool! I loved it so much that I forgot all about the bath and sulking. The ball has a squeaker inside so I love pouncing on it! Mom saw the ball at Petco earlier today when she was stocking up on essential items (like Pupperoni and dog biscuits) and couldn't resist buying it for me. There's a pic of me and my new toy in my photo album.

The real reason for mom's pilgrimmage to Petco was that she was looking for a holiday collar and leash for me. She was very disappointed that she didn't find a good selection there. She checked a few other places but no luck. Are they sold out? Is she looking in the wrong places? Next stop on her collar crusade....the internet. Hopefully she'll be able to buy me a really stylish holiday collar that'll turn all the ladies' heads!

She's back!

I am so relieved to have my mom back. She was gone for so long that I thought she had forgotten all about me and was never coming back. She said that she was very far away in a place called 'Africa' or something like that. I wasn't really paying attention though, I was too busy knocking her over and licking her face and sniffing around for any treats she may have brought me.

She's worried becuase I lost weight in her absence, my ribs are kinda sticking out. I did not eat very much when she was gone because I was sad and missed her but now that she's back I am eating normally and she is giving me nice treats to fatten me up. I am loving this! I have had a nice steak and rice dinner twice in the past week. Yumm-eee!

Now that things are back on track though, I am getting on her about updating my dogster page. Get with the program woman! Take more pics of handsome me and post them!

Pawsome weekend!

My typist has not had time to write an entry in a few days and my doggie paws can't work the keyboard very well so I had to wait until now to tell you about my pawsome weekend. On Friday night mom took me to PetCo and we went nuts buying stuff. I got 2 new doggie bowls--they are cute, have doggie paw print and bone designs, we also got a huge bag of kibble, some soft food to mix with it and 4, count 'em, 4 bags of treats! To top it all off, mom got me 2 hickory smoked bones and 2 ham bones! WOW! I also got a fashionable new black leather collar and a matching leash since my old collar snapped in two at doggie day care. The bestest part of the whole shopping spree; however, was when I got to pick out a toy. Mom laid out several that she thought I might like and let me pick out my favorite. I was initially torn between a plush soccer ball and a stuffed snake but the snake won out in the end. It has two squeakers, one in its head and one in its tail, also when you jiggle the head it rattles! I love it! I carry it around with me almost everywhere I go. Whenever I decide to play with one of my other toys or when we go on a walk and I have to leave my snake behind I have to make sure that I hide it really well so no one can steal it! Who knows when a doggie invader might break into the house and make off with my fave new toy??!! Better safe than sorry.

Saturday was very nice, we played ball and frisbee in the yard and went on a long walk. Sunday was the best though, mom took me to the beach! I loooove the beach. The water was chilly but I didn't care, I jumped right in and swam for a whole hour! The water was full of branches and sticks from the thunderstorms earlier in the week so I undertook to beautify the bay by retrieving all of them and towing them to shore. It was a herculean task but I succeeded. Several pics from our trip plus one of my new snake are posted in my dogster photo album.

Until next time....

It's been yucky weather all week. Very depressing. Can't go on extended walkies like usual. Hopefully it will clear up this weekend so we can have some fun outside. Tonight we are going to PetCo to buy me a big bone and possibly a fall jacket because it has been getting chilly! Brrrr! Also I need more puppy food and other tasty things like TREATS! I love weekends!

The return of mom

Boy oh boy am I glad to have my mommy back! She said she had a great time at the conference but she missed me so much! I was well taken care of in her absence. I stayed with family members and the dog walker stopped by every day to check on me, sometimes she even came twice so I got both morning and afternoon walkies plus extra walkies and play time whenever my family members had time! Mommy even arranged for me to go to doggie daycare two full days while she was gone. I had a great t ime hanging out with my buddies there. It had been a while since I went since I was down with the kennel cough and quarantined for several weeks.

When she first came home I was super squirmy, I was so happy to see her that my whole body was all wiggly. I couldn't stop giving her kisses and snuggling against her. I hope she doesn't have to leave me again for along long time!

Midweek thoughts

Mommy finally found a sitter/walker for me! Yaaay! I haven't met her yet but mommy says that she is a very nice girl named Kelly who works for a well-known doggie service in the city. Mommy will finalize details with her tomorrow night when she comes over to meet me and see the house and stuff. The nice people at my doggie day car recommended this company so mom feels comfortable working with them. I will really miss mommy while she is away but this nice girl will help make things more bearable by taking me on 2 long walkies a day-- I will also get play time in the yard and lots of TLC. Oh, and let's not forget the treats! Mom told her not to skimp on the treats! BOL!

My kennel cough is much better now. I hardly wheeze at all even after running and playing rather strenuously. Yaaay!

Okay, my typist (mommy) says she has to get back to work *pout* so this diary entry will have to draw to a close.

Our search for a good pet sitter and other news bits

Well, mom is leaving for Barbados next weekend and still hasn't found a pet sitter for me. She is getting very anxious! Most of the problem is that few sitters work in the city. They all prefer work in the counties. BIG BAD CITY! Ugh! What weenies they are! We live in a perfectly neighborhood that is safe day or night, no danger there but will they even consider sitting for me...NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Sigh... Mommy is following some leads. I can't board at my doggie day care like mom and I had wanted since I am still recovering from my kennel cough and my immune system is weak.

On a positive note, mommy bought a really neat picture frame to put one of my portraits in. It is a hand painted wood frame with doggie bones on it. Too cute. She found it on e-bay and payed more than she should have...but hey, this is me we're talking about. America's next doggie super model. She needs a handsome frame to highlight the photo of handsome me. Right?

Woof woof!
