Likes:
LIVER TREATS! CHEESE! Agility practice. Giving kisses to everyone he meets.

Pet-Peeves:
Things that waft. Rain or snow (he blames us for it). The new coffee maker--it is the Embodiment of Evil.

Favorite Toy:
CUP: An unused plastic detergent measuring cup that fell off a jumbo bottle of clothes detergent as we were putting it away.

Favorite Food:
LIVER TREATS! CHEESE!

Favorite Walk:
Draper Park for fun, or down to Manor Market to mooch some snacks.

Best Tricks:
Baxter tap dances when he's told to "Tippity-Tap." He stands up and pirouettes when told to "Dance." He gives high-fives, walks on his hind legs, sits, lies down, stays, and comes on command. When he wants to go outside, he rings a bell. What a good dog!

Arrival Story:
Sluggo was allergic to dogs his whole life. Then a Boston Terrier who was being carried to the ring at the Westminster Dog Show reached wa-a-ay out to give Sluggo a kiss, and he realized that he wasn't very allergic to Boston Terriers at all. Yay! Some Internet searching turned up a wonderful couple in Connecticut who breed wonderful Bostons, and Baxter came to live with us.

Bio:
Baxter is very smart. He knows the names of all his toys--cup, frayed knot, tire, filthy rag, dino dino, blue bone, Mr. Toy, and ball--and will go fetch each one when asked. He loves to play in the park with his Big Dog friends, and he loves to go to "school," which is his word for agility practice. Baxter has 27 different words for food, including the relatively obscure term "pixie sprinkle dust." When he hears a word he doesn't understand he tips his head to one side, which helps the words slide in. When Bax is done playing, he likes to cuddle and sleep in our laps. He has modeled an Aquascutum dog coat for a magazine, and he's worn his various hats (which he's not too keen on) for a WFMU.org webcast. Baxter's a lot of fun, and we love him very much.
