Arrival Story:
I became a volunteer for Northern California Beagle Rescue after my 11 year old beagle, Gus, passed away in May 2003. As a driver, I picked up a young tri-colored beagle boy named Primer in July 2003 at the Monterey SPCA. Reading his paperwork from the Shelter, it said that his owner had requested that he be put down. Needless to say, the Shelter was suspicious and quarantined him to observe any aggressive behavior. Eventually, the jerk owner abandoned him. Lucky for Beagle Rescue and really lucky for me! I became his Foster Mom and eventually adopted him. I call him Rudy, as this name is truly fitting for him. Rudy is an Exceptional Beagle Boy and I have been training him to be a Service Animal for the autistic and elderly. Rudy will shine and be sweet to everyone he meets.
