Strider came to us by pure luck. I was in the market for a service/therapy dog for my son. My friend saw an ad in our local paper and called me. I jumped on the phone and called his breeder. We had just gotten back from a trip and I wasn't sure there would be any pups left. But there were and I went to meet them the next day. The pups were only 4 weeks old at the time and not ready to come home. I made 4 more trips over a 2 week period. I had made my decision on which one I wanted but it was not up to just me. My son was going to be the main choice maker on this huge decision. So I did not tell him which one I liked, just said they were all cute.
Of course he fell for all of them, after only one visit he had narrowed it done to 2 pups. One a female and the other was going to be our "Stridie".
So as you can already guess who we picked.
It was the best choice ever. Strider is the greatest dog. He is smart, sweet and has great instincts.
He woke me up after only having him 4 days to warn me of a seizure my son was going to have.
Strider was only 10 weeks old at the time. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence but no he did it over and over again.
I too have health issues and he takes great care of me. He gets my Husband for me when I need him and he knows most everything we ask of him.
Even without his special instincts Strider would be the best pal in the world.
We have all kinds of dogs coming and going in our house and he is the best host and buddy to them all. We are just so happy with his personality and ability to get along with the other critters etc.
I had him when I met my Honey and He had 2 Malamutes, that's how we met. Strider just loved Zach(our male Mali) and he feel for Mark (daddy) and he brought us together.
So he isn't just a dog he is a matchmaker too.
I probably could brag on and on but I won't (for now) LOL.
Strider comes from a champion father but he is not a show dog, he is better, a great all around companion and service/therapy dog.
