Arrival Story:
We had lost our dog of 17 years. It took us two years before we were ready for another dog. I had always loved the appearanace of huskies so searched the newspaper for any for sale. Roxy was the last female left in her litter. She was extremely small, obviously the runt, malnourished and covered with fleas. She had a terrible worm infestation. The breeder that had her didn't pay any attention to her. The other puppies gobbled up any food that was thrown down before she had a chance to get any. I felt so sorry for her and wanted to rescue her. I think she has always been grateful to us for bringing her into our home.

Bio:
Roxy is the omega in the pack. No one plays unless she initiates it. She is extremely independent and rather aloof. She absolutely will not come when called. She will let us pet her but only for short periods of time. Her main goal in life is to keep the critter population down on our property. She loves to hunt, and is usually successful. She can make herself extremely stealth and come up on the quickest rabbit. She has picked many a bird off as they are in flight. She is very fast and amazes us with her energy and speed at her age. Even though she is nine, we have not noticed any slowing down in her activity level. She is also extremely healthy. She has a unique personality and we enjoy having her as part of our family. She has the most beautiful markings and face. She is very dainty and ladylike. We call her cat-dog because she thoroughly washes herself after every meal just like a cat. She loves to cool off in the pool after sun-bathing. She will sun herself for long periods of time even in 100+ temperatures.
