Any squeaky toy, Having her belly scratched - also under her neck...she will yawn about every ten seconds the whole time you rub or scratch under her neck.
Another dog coming near her toys or chew bones
Fetching balls and playing keep away with them from the other dogs
I loved my male shiba inu so much, that I had to have a female.
Reba was a beautiful red/white shiba puppy when I purchased her at 8 weeks old. I found her on the same internet website as I did for my male, Beau. She was a bit unsure of me, and was a little timid, when I first got her at the airport - perhaps the plane ride was not to her liking. She soon warmed up, and was especially happy when she arrived to my house and met Beau. I am now a "Registered Breeder" of shiba inus. Reba has given us five litters of puppies, and has made thirty other families proud owners of shiba inus. Reba has been the best mom ever, but is now just our beloved pet !
The shiba inu has been described as a large dog in a small dog's body - this is 100% accurate. They are quite strong and athletic. Males average 25 lbs. and females 20 lbs. This breed has a remarkably soft coat - they are fox-like in appearance, and seldom bark. They originate from Japan and have only been in the United States since 1953. They love the out of doors and prefer colder temperatures. They are easily house trained. They are very swift afoot - they can easily catch birds and even squirrels. Though quite independent, they bond very closely to their owners, and make excellent companions and playmates for children.

I was in search of a female companion for my recently purchased male, Beau.
I had made a decision that I would like to breed shiba inus. I really loved the cream colored shiba inu, but I decided that I would pursue a red/white or sesame color for my female. I, once again, visited the website where I had purchased Beau. I noticed a puppy that I thought was so cute. She was red/white, but also had some spots of white throughout her coat, reminded me of a "painted horse" in coloring. I didn't immediately contact the breeder, which I later kicked myself for, because she sold just hours to me calling the seller. I was determined to keep searching for one similar to the one I missed out on. One morning I saw a sweet little female that looked almost identical to the one that had sold. I knew this puppy had just been placed for sale, because I had been checking day and night for any new puppies being listed. I had to get to work, and could not contact the seller immediately. I figured they would be busy during the day as well, so I would contact them that evening as soon as I got home. When I arrived home later, I immediately went to the computer and discovered she was no longer listed ! I thought " Oh no ! Not again !" Fortunately, I had jotted down the phone number and left it right beside my computer. I immediately called to see what had happened, and to make sure she was no longer available. When I spoke with the seller, she said that they had decided not to sell her. They thought she was so beautiful, they had decided to keep her for breeding. But, after we spoke and she determined how disappointed I was, she decided to go ahead and sell her to me. I was overwhelmed with excitement ! I immediately sent a money order and received Reba about a week later. Reba came to me from Iowa. She was just a little doll as a puppy, and has now, along with Beau, brought seventeen beautiful little shiba inu puppies into this world. The two have made seventeen families very happy, EIGHTEEN counting mine !!!
