Arrival Story: We had two older dogs that passed away within 6 months of each other. We thought another dog would just come our way, it would be a Cosmic meeting. After 18 months of no encounters, we went searching and found our Cosmic Dog at the Pasadena Humane Society. At that time there was a lottery if more than one person wanted the dog. My husband showed up and waited for the doors to open on lottery day. He looked so pitiful that they gave Dougal to him without waiting for the lottery. We called our daughter in Scotland, who named her after a character in a British Children's TV show.

Bio: Doogie was a fabulous frisbee dog. In fact, she invented the Dougal Roll. A high catch, then roll 3 times before getting up with Frisbee in mouth. She never went anywhere without a frisbee in her mouth. As she got older, she didn't like being around great numbers of other dogs. She became the Gloria Allred of the Dog Park and other dogs didn't like being bossed around., so we stopped going. By that time she was more interested in just walking and sleeping. She could not come to the door without a toy in her mouth and would run around until she found one. She died at age 12 of cancer on March 17, 2006. She was in our arms, andwill always be the Cosmic dog in our hearts
