The Wiggle Life

Went to the dog park twice this week! The first time we stayed so long and ran so much that I was sore for days after. SO much fun.

Then last time...well, things were pretty empty. I still had fun chasing some other dogs around, but then I found the one mud puddle in the park and took a "bath". Yay!

I'm a good boy...finally!

Mom and dad are really proud of me! They've been letting me stay out of my crate sometimes when they're not home, and I haven't chewed any holes in the walls or anything! They say I must be growing up, but c'mon...look at me! I'm still their little baby.

And I played with the nicest doberman at the dog park last week - he was only five months old but bigger than me - he played my favorite game for hours with me! (the "chase me" game) I won!

Woof!

Wow, I had a great day yesterday. I had a ton of fun at the dogpark, and mom let us stay for ages. I actually got tired, which is a feat....truly. I tussled with this white pit bull, played with some great toys and ran around like a maniac. My sister tried to break it up a few times, but she's just so much slower than me, it didn't do much good.

Y'know, I wanted a weimaraner for the longest time. Deciding that they were just too big, a little *too* much dog, was hard for me and it was with a little bit of sadness that I chose a Vizsla instead. Little did I know, there was something better out there for me. Everything changed the moment I layed eyes on you - I fell in love as soon as we met, and every doubt vanished from my mind. Every day with you since then has compounded that feeling. Yes, you steal my seat...and my bed. You invade my privacy when I'm in the shower. You lick me when I don't want to be licked. You eat my furniture, dig holes in the yards of people who have us as guests, wiggle like it's going out of style with no thought to what you knock over, and you step on me and your "father's" most sensitive bits without conscience or care. I adore you for all of these reasons, and even more for your more obvious lovable qualities. You love everyone and every thing, and have the most brilliant zest for life I've ever seen. I have a laundry list of things I need to make me happy, but all it takes for you is a simple walk, swim or run. Even a bone or a scratch on the head will do it. Oddly enough though, now that I've known you for two years, your attitude often wears off on me. I find myself being happy with the cookie in my hand, or the walk ahead of us, or the sun on my back as I watch you play at the dog park.

People often say that they want to come back as their dogs, since the dogs really seem to live those lovely, pampered, happy lives. Personally, I'd rather come back as myself again, if only for a little while, so I could spend another lifetime with you once this one ends.

My trip to...somewhere else

Ok, so yesterday, my mom packed me and my "sister" in the car (frankly, she's just another chew toy to me, but whatever...) and took us on the longest drive ever. I thought we were going to the dog park, but nooooo. It was a whole lot of going to this house and standing in the yard, going to some other house and sitting in my crate and then going back to the first one and getting chased off the couch over and over....definately not something I'm used to. I did get one good thing accomplished though - I dug a GIANT, AWESOME hole in one of those people's yards. It was so perfect for laying in, you just wouldn't believe us. But it's still nice to be home. The holes here are much better.
