I am so excited!!! As you all know if you have read my previous entry, I have had an adoration for Dozer and Sadie. Previously momma had said I could not play with them and although I have still not yet been allowed to actually play with them I did get to meet both of them nose to nose. You see momma and grandma have been working very tediously with them lately and our meeting was just another step in their training and temperment check. I don't really understand all this but, I do know that I very much enjoyed meeting and greeting these beautiful dogs. I was so excited momma had a hard time getting me back into the house afterwards. I can't wait for the next time. Sadie seemed a little confused by all my howling but, she did not seem annoyed. She was trying to figure out what I was barking (howling) at?! I was just so excited by her presence that I was actually howling at her. I was also introduced to the kiddy pool yesterday, I am not yet to sure what I think of this but momma did not seem to mind being in it so maybe its okay?!Now if only I could "the old man" to play with me all would be great!! Momma says that will not happen but, I will NOT quit trying regardless. Momma also says that maybe sometime in the near future I can actually play with Dozer and Sadie but, only time will tell.

Five weeks ago I was sitting in a doggy playpen in a local pet store. I was all by myself with out food, water, or a place to go to the bathroom (except the floor). Little did I know that was all about to change for me. This wonderful lady (my human grandma) and gentleman (my human grandpa) were looking to buy thier daughter the birthday present of her dreams. She had wanted a beagle since she was a young child (she is now an adult). Since they had waited to look until almost the last minute they had no plans of actually being successful in their search so quickly. Fate however had much different plans. They walked in and thier I was - the very first dog they seen! Grandma picked me up and played with my ears, teeth, eyes, and checked my tempermant thoroughly (as my soon to be momma has a now 3 year old daughter). I was very unsure of what she was doing but, did not protest or show any aggressions therefore I had quickly earned my place in this loving family. I met momma about 45 minutes later. She was so excited I think she may have actually shed a tear a two?? Shortly there after I met the other puppy in the house Lorretta (grandmas chi puppy),And the old man (as the humans refer to him) Dusty. I have grown to really idolize him but, I do not understand why he refuses to play with me?? Momma and grandma tell me he is to old and unstable to play with me but, I will NOT accept this I still insist on bringing him toys, dropping them at his feet, and wagging my tail( or butt rather) and waiting patiently for him to play with me. Momma had to go pick up my human sister so it was back in the car for me. I had accepted momma right away so under her seat is where I rode. Then I saw her she is a great little girl. Now she helps feed me, and helps momma clean my crate when I have an accident. She really enjoys giving both Lorretta and I treats from her hands. Momma and grandma say this is very important step so that we will accept her as alpha?! I don't know about that? I sure do like the treats though no matter where they come from. I have done very well with the potty although still working on it. My favorite place to sleep for the night was on mommas and dads bed but, that priviledge has been temporarily ceased due to the fact that once I realized I could jump on and off the bed myself I quit waking momma up for potty time and just began going all over the room. Now when I am in my crate I refuse to eliminate where I sleep therfore I have to wake momma up. Momma always calls me handsome boy (I have no idea what that means but I know it is good by the way she says it) Grandma calls me beagle boy ( don't know what that means either but i am sure its good too). I have been very eager to please this new family I become a part of. I have learned to sit, beg, lay, rollover, wait, and most of the time "no bite". But sometimes especially when enjoying play time with Lorretta I tend to forget this one. I do not appreciate being interrupted during this time. When I go out on the leash (which I am not very good at yet but, do enjoy very much) I see that we also have 2 dogs out there that I would like very much to play with also but momma always says "no"? She says they are too big to play with (have you ever heard of such a crazy thing?) Maybe sometime soon after they get a behavior evaluation I can play with them? Momma does not know if they like and accept other dogs yet?! (rottweilers)I am a very destructive pup when it comes to toys. It is so funny to watch momma and grandma try and find toys that can outlast my roughness, I have managed to destroy many of Lorrettas in a very short time period but, they always have the upmost of patience with me. This is going to be a great family to be a part of. So to sum this up for now I am very happy that fate had such wonderful plans for my life and I know that momma too is very happy. I think this is just the beginning of a life long friendship. (or should I say friendships? We seem to have a very big pack) I am just happy to have recieved a place this wonderfully connected pack.
