Arrival Story:
I had a sheltie when I was young but waited to get a puppy after I retired 2 years ago. I had contacted local breeders but hadn't come up with a puppy available when I wanted one. Then I found an add in the paper for sheltie puppies in a nearby state. I went to visit when he was 4 weeks old to pick one out and when back to get him when he was 8 weeks old. I guess I picked him because he had the thinnest white stripe down the middle of his nose.

Happy Mommy's Day

Happy Mommy's Day. Thanks for not making me wear the awful Halti the last few days on our morning walks. I'm trying to be good and not pull so much and eat bad things now that I'm getting to be a big boy.
Love,
Jamie

Saturday's Long Walk

Hi. Every day I get to go for a walk on a nice bike bath around a pond near where we live. Mommy takes me and we usually run into other friends to walk with. But on Saturdays we do a different thing. We still start out walking to the pond on the path but we go under a slightly scary bridge and keep walking and walking on the path. Lately it's been hot even at 7 a.m. so Mommy brings water for both of us to drink. After we walk alone for a long time we often run into our friend Sadie who is a black lab/retriever mix and her human Mommy. Then I get to go for a ride in Sadie's Mommy's car back to their house and we walk home which is not too far.

But this past Saturday Sadie's Mommy didn't drive the car so when we finally caught up with them, we had to walk all the way back home. I was so excited to be outside and see my friend that Mommy dropped my leash for a little while and let me run and run. I was such a good boy about coming right to her as soon as she called that she gave me treats. I've tried to train her well but sometimes she fails to give me the treats at the proper time.

But even better than getting to run far and fast is this time Mommy let me run in the little stream with Sadie. Some people say shelties don't like water but I like it fine as long as it's not that rain falling on my face. So I got to run a little and play splashy splashy in the stream and Mommy & her human friend laughed and said how cute I look. I got wet up to my tummy and it felt nice and cool. I haven't tried to lie down in the water like Sadie does yet and I don't know if I can swim. But I dried off by the time we walked home. Mommy was kinda tired and said we walked 4 miles but after I rested for 5 mintues I was ready to tell Daddy all about it and play frisbee in the livingroom with him.

I hope we go there again this week!

Worried About my Kittens

I'm worried because I heard the humans say my kittens are going to the hospital tomorrow. I think they're going to get neutered (ouch!). I didn't have fun at all when they did that to me. The worse part was I had to wear that stupid e collar for a few days and kept walking into things. But I was 6 months old when I had my surgery. My kittens aren't even 5 months old yet and they're so little. I don't even think Mommy will let me play with them tomorrow night because they'll have to rest. Ugh. They were just getting to learn to run around the livingroom with me. Maybe I can get the grumpy Andy cat to play.
