Bio:
Sumi was named after a coffee blend of the day - the Sumatra blend - but her name is also from a Japanese art form meaning "black ink". Sumi and I were in a bad car accident in March 2005. She survived with only bruises, but I messed up my knee, so she is currently vacationing with Grandma and Grandpa in Northern Michigan. I miss her so much. I can hardly wait to get her back in May.

I've been conspicuously absent from Dogster for over a year now. I'm not sure why - I have just been so wrapped up that I didn't get around to updating the site. Sumi and I are doing wonderfully these days, still living in the same apartment but driving a much safer car!

I have just begun writing a book about Sumi - figured those types of books are hot sellers, I am a good writer, and she is the quirkiest pug on earth, so the combination is a good one! Will keep updates online so that the world knows when it's ready!

Grandpa is the Best!

I have been staying with Grandpa in Cheboygan ever since Mommy and I got into a horrible rollover car accident. I miss my Mommy, and every night that she has a dream about me I wake up and whine at Grandpa and Grandma's bedroom door because I can sense when Mommy's dreaming of me! I have had two blind dates since I've been here. One with an English bulldog (he's a hottie!) and one that didn't go so well with a miniature Yorkie (he was intimidated by my size, and wouldn't play with me no matter how hard I tried). I would really like a pug boyfriend, but I guess there aren't any pugs in northern Michigan. Maybe when I come back to Chicago.

I miss my Mommy, though, and hope she is feeling better and gets a new car soon so that she can come here and take me home.

Sumi's Second Birthday!

Sumi turned 2 years old on October 21. It was amazing that I have had her this long and she's still healthy. We celebrated by having the stitches out of her eyelids (she had surgery in September for an eye condition called entroprion). She also got a new Booda bear toy, a squeaky soccer ball, and a special canned food dinner (she ordinarily eats dry food). She promptly threw up most of her dinner on my lap! Oh well, what are dogs for! I love her anyway....
